The deal is for "Bank Customers" and the credit card qualifies under State Farm Bank - check out their website. You need to login to SF Bank to access your CC account.

After you're approved for the CC sent to you in the mail, activate it and register it to your State Farm online account. After that, click the link from the OP and you'll see the discount for TurboTax. Hope that helps.

I definitely would, since I've been using TT online for at least 5 or 6 years...usually Deluxe...and I pay more via Vanguard w/ its small discount.

Since I have a rental property, I need to use Premier, which is more expensive even with Vanguard's discount.

I would rather get a Visa credit card and do what other posters mention regarding linking to amazon account (I shop there a lot), rather than worry about another extra bank account to my name...

I have decent credit anyways and am not looking to purchase a home or anything big that would require a credit check...

WHy not put 100 or less into a savings account? Thats what I did.

I also have rental property and own my own side business. Get the free basic one as it has all the forms you need. Since you have used it in the past just call up the forms you need. All versions are exactly alike, it just asks different questions.

thanks for the tip! i hear though, that if you don't get at least deluxe version, you might have a harder time filling out the forms yourself (are the forms self-explanatory)? i guess i can always try first with the basic and possibly upgrade up if the forms are difficult to fill out for someone like me (i'm a frazzled, disorganized mom)...

Yes I would (I did it 3 years ago). Why tie up even 100 dollars in a savings account you can never draw from when I can spend 0 dollars for a piece of plastic that I don't even put in my wallet...

I mean, if you can't get a credit card then this option is not for you, but if you are a SD'er, then you will definitely open a credit card account to get a comparatively small cash back... my cash back with 0 spending is almost 100 bucks because I have to file two states.

Seems like a no brainer... what's the issue? and don't tell me about credit utilization and hard pulls... you want to swim in the SD water, you're going to have to get wet...

True SDers don't get a credit card with no rewards. Put $25 if you are too cheap for 100.

Years ago was able to score turbo tax with just my insurance account but not anymore. Opened a $25 checking. Worth it if they continue giving free every year.

Just logged in using my insurance only account (I dont have a bank account, but insure my vehicles & rental apt thru SF) and it works for me.

I will add the price look no different than using the Wells Fargo bank link (no WF account needed) to access TTonline right here:

The prices you see with your insurance-only account (which may match the Wells Fargo link) are more expensive than those listed in the opening post table. For example, download version of Premier on the Wells Fargo site is $75, and I purchased it on the State Farm Bank access site for $30.

The prices in OP are correct but Home & Business is $74.99 online. I have State Farm checking and show same prices for all other items. What gives?

Business Turbotax is also needed to file for Estates & Trusts. Every year I search for any discounts without much luck. You found it for $50 at State Farm Bank and next lowest is $109 plus tax at Amazon!
