Was looking for M40.. Is R20 a good substitute for it..? It's lesser in price so not sure how much of a tech diff between the 2 and if they are comparable for a layman usage. How soon do items out of stock come back.. Any advice.

got an R20. didn't mind $10 for fast 8GB memory

I bought (previous deal) both an M40 and R20. No comparison - the M40 BLOWS the lesser ones away. The video is much more crisp and handles low light better, due to the much much larger sensor in it. Now, the R20 wasn't bad if you were just looking at it alone, but trying the two side by side, the M40 was way better.

Moral of the story- I returned the R20 and bought 3 more M40s (we like to do multi-camera shoots of the kids' plays and stuff, then actually edit it. That way you have a video someone might actually ever watch)

I've bought 3 refurbished items from Canon and have to return them all for failure within 48 hours. I have had much better success with their brand new products of which I own plenty.

Hooya Booya... just picked up a r20. For $100 that ain't bad. Just hoping I don't get a lemon in the lot. Go team slickdeals!

Really annoyed that these prices are way cheaper than on black Friday. Be aware that they only have a 14 day return policy and they do not extend it for the holidays.

Would this be good enough for 1080p video? I know its not a 45mb sandisk extreme but do I need that?

It said somewhere you need at least Class 2 or 4 for 1080p so yes, that's enough.
