However I'll cancel or return it if I can't get the "original" rebate form. How does one acquire it? If they actually enforce it as such, this would be the first scam rebate "offer" I've ever come across in 15+ years with 10 dozen or so rebates I've redeemed. Does anyone have the answer? |

I think people are getting this confused with injector cleaners. While this does have that, it's only 1 of the 3 things included in this kit.
Intake manifolds, throttle bodies, valves, cylinders, etc all collect crap on them. Impurities that get past the air filter combined with heat, moisture, and impurities in gas can lead to crap sticking to stuff. Should it be a major problem on many cars? No, however, does that mean no one needs this and it's completely useless? No. Most of this stuff can be found cheaper than this kit, and usually if people need something, it might be just one thing. Throttle bodies are easy to get to, and throttle body cleaner is cheap. Around $3 if you look around. This is a moving part, driven either by cable or wire. Sometimes moving parts get gunked up, it wouldn't hurt to use it but for most people it'll be a placebo effect. Intake manifolds & Valves. As people have said before, fuel injected cars, not including direct injection (there are some exceptions) again, in general, don't need this. Not a lot of gunk gets stuck in intake manifolds and valves are cleaned by fuel additives. Not a necessity, and unless done correctly (which most people won't do), will not give useful results when cleaning the intake manifold runners. For Direct Injection systems, this might help, but I'm not sure the concentration would be effective after flowing through the entire intake system before hitting the valves. People who don't think the fuel additives clean valves, why did Subaru and Toyota implement a system on the BRZ and FR-S, which are Direct Injection systems, which injects a small amount of fuel before the intake valve to keep it clean? Look up D4-S system where it has direct and port injection. If the fuel didn't help clean the valves, it would be a waste of money and technology to implement such a system. Fuel system cleaner. Now this is a waste of money. Does absolutely nothing. If your fuel injectors are clogging, this is not going to help them. A professional service, where you take out the injectors and have them professionally cleaned and flow tested, such as RC engineering does, is basically the only way to ungunk injectors. I know from first hand experience. Most of the time, a slightly gunked fuel injector will not be noticed by a typical driver in an econo car. Sports cars, on the other hand, may notice a difference in performance. Lastly, if your car is old, not running to well, and think the motor may be heading towards its last leg. Cleaning your cylinders may actually decrease the life of your motor. Why? There's carbon build up in the cylinder, however your piston rings have already adapted to this carbon build up. Think of rubbing a piece of wood up and down a solid rock, eventually the wood "dents" and the rock fills the dent in the wood. If you remove this carbon build up, it leaves a small hole in the piston rings, where the carbon used to be, which allows more oil to enter the combustion chamber (bad), leading to burning oil and lowering compression numbers (bad). Hopefully this clears some misinformation up. |

The fact that you classify all ".com" websites as biased suggests that you are not willing to apply reasoning skills to your decisions. As such, feel free to fill up on walmart gas to save 1% on fuel. You can rest assured that your injectors will still continue to spray fuel for most of the cars life.... just expect your spray pattern to trend towards junk [injectorrx.com]. |

I would also infer that "if" I ran Wal*Mart gasoline and changed my oil my car would NEVER blow an engine. Maybe a head gasket, etc. but not a mechanical failure. Maintenance is much more important than gasoline choice. If people buy this "Magic Fuel System Cleaner" and don't change their oil, they're wasting their time. I'd ask that you not attack me in your reply as I had the courtesy to refrain from doing to you in my own because as I pointed out, that is a true sign of not being intelligent. I am always happy to accept any expired Kohl's cash and MCR (My Coke Rewards) points. PM me with any donations, Thank you.

Paint Restoration Kit
Slightly off-topic, but in looking at the rebate forms, they also have $15 off the Paint Restoration Kit. With Subscribe/Save, it's <$30 before rebate, making it ~$15 after.Pretty good deal for buffing pads and polish/wax to use with your DA polisher, especially if you got in on some of the Griot's garage polisher deals that did not include any consumables. |
