Yes. I just did it - updated all of the drivers, installed all the apps/serials, etc. on one laptop, made a clone of that hard drive it to an SSD, and popped the SSD into a different computer of the same model. It's working without issues, and Windows remained activated and didn't notice any hardware changes even though the chips/mobo are physically different. |

Go to the Samsung website http://www.samsung.com/us/support...0Z5B-S01UB (copy this "NP700Z5B-S01UB" into the search field if the link doesn't get you to the download page) and get 1 - Easy Software manager (Software) (ver.1.1.18.13) 2 - Easy Support Center (Software) (ver.1.2.2.6) and download/install these 2 programs to get the drivers/software updates This is a great forum if you need help troubleshooting! http://forum.notebookr Best of luck Last edited by AznVenom; 12-24-2012 at 05:35 PM.. |

To texturize it... I'm going to apply a screen protector or something. |

I got a grade 6. Other than a small dent on the cover. It looks new.
However I have a problem with the hard drive. In windows it showsthree drives. C, D, and F. C and D are normal. One is 345gb and the other is 565gb. F is unformatted. In the Samsung recovery solution it shows three drivers as well. C, D, and Z, which Z is the recovery drive which is 21gb. So I am not sure if the F drive in windows is the recovery drive. It is just weird that there is an unformatted drive showing in Windows. Also I used a partition program to see what the F drive is in Windows. I got i/o errors when the program tried to access the hard drive. I selected ingore several times and the program finally showed the partitions which are C, D, and Z. Also it shows that there is a 8GB ssd. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Update: I checked the F: in windows. The capacity is 7.46GB. So it looks like it is the ssd. Is it safe to format it? What is it used for? Last edited by hanglinlll; 12-26-2012 at 12:31 PM.. |

I was wondering if anyone recieved this without an operating system installed?
(note: i did not buy this computer at all, but did get in on another CB LT deal) I actually looking for some guidance as well. Because I am looking to buy another LT on CB and I see there are many that do not have OS installed. I was wondering what steps (and hardware & ultimatly cost) would be needed to install a OS on such a LT. I have 2 LT with WIN 7 HomePremium (HP) installed, but if I am not mistaken to load a OS, I still need a WIN 7 HP CD/DVD? Lastly, I would say my knowledge is slightly above average in matters like this. Any input would be appreciated. thanks |

Then, when there is a factory restore, it will keep the partion the same. Regarding deleting, formating etc: My advice is not to do that unless you are 99% sure of what u are formatting. You can use diskmanagement to see the logical drives and their status. It is also possible that the partion (once it was creasted) was never formatted and so u may see that it is not usable. The disk management software will format it so that u can use it. There is a u tube video on how to partion the hard drive in W7HP that is quite useful and from where I got the information I posted above. If you have tried all this then,, as a last resort, it would not hurt to restore the computer back to factory settings (since it is pretty new and u probably do not have much data stored on in yet) |

Totally satisfied with the computer now. It is really a steal at this price ($390 - $60 refund = $330). Thanks OP. Repped

Anyone have a factory restore disc? Looking to buy a copy off someone. My recovery software does NOT have an initial factory backup to use. It looks like the people at BB used an image pulled off an np700 usb backup device, so no factory restore for me. Crap like NortonA/V and trial MS Office show up as installed, but the files are missing, and impossible to remove/uninstall. I'm sure some more critical files are gone as well.
Anyone else missing their factory restore image? I wanted to avoid a clean install for this laptop. |

I don't know about you guys but the HD on this was one of the slowest 5400 RPM drive I've ever used. You could really tell how sluggish it was while updating windows files. Mine had a slight dent on the case and was able to flip it on CL for $500. Wonderful for the rest of specs but the HD seems like a pos and is definitely holding it back.
