We're looking to get mom an Air for the holidays. I figure we'd just walk into Apple and get it. Is this basically just saving on tax? Or are the sleeve and warranty discounted as well?

It's the same price as the Apple Store ($1199) however you get either a free sleeve or Paralell's software + 2 year's Apple Care Warranty (as opposed to the standard 1 year, a $180 value)

They gotta do this with the 8GB of RAM version, 4GB just isn't enough anymore.

If you go to the Apple store, the price will be $1,448 + tax with no sleeve. The AppleCare price at the Apple Store is $249 and adds 2 additional years to the warranty (3 years total).

BB and Amazon are 1099.99. So for $100 more you get 2 extra years warranty + case.

Is this correct?

B&H does not charge tax, but BB does. So It won't be same when you buy from BB, but it does the same when you buy from Amazon [only for few where it did not charge tax].

The software option was not present in the morning when I posted it. It has been added now and it becomes a better option now. Thanks a lot

Can one sell the AppleCare afterwards? I can use Amex to get the extra year warranty and figure I could flip the AppleCare.
