Onkyo TX-NR809 THX Certified 7.2-Channel A/V Network Receiver (135 W/Ch) price changes daily (but now going back up): $445.32 @ Amazon
Onkyo TX-NR809 THX Certified 7.2-Channel Network A/V Receiver @ Amazon

I posted this deal at the end of last week. But because the price has dropped by $150 since that post I am reposting the deal now so that it gets more exposure in the threads and more people can take advantage of the deal. Now its $445.32, but had been as low as $426.77, after being $431.98, $449.50, $475.79, $511.95, $546.94, and initially 574.63 when I first posted this a week ago. This is a GREAT price for a powerhouse THX rated receiver. Its a 2011 model but it has all the bells and whistles. The THX certification means it puts out a good amount of power over and above what most other receivers do for under five hundred bucks. I do note the build quality of Onkyo seems to be a bit sketchy nowadays however. Some of the reviews at Amazon, and also in the AVS forums http://www.avsforum.com/t/1341271...hread/4620, have had electronic part failures on this model, while others have glowed heaps of praise on it (and that was at a time when the unit was selling near its $1000 retail price). Not sure if the risk is too high though to warrant ordering one and checking it out completely since Amazon's return policy for the first 30 days is pretty hassle free. I ordered one and I hope some others will also give it a shot. I've contacted Amazon already twice to do a price adjustment to my order as I ordered the unit at the now higher price of $574.79. They adjusted my order price without any hassle.
