Its hard to know for sure. If you notice the last digit in the cents column went up sequentially each time the price changed. If anyone knows how Amazon's pricing algorithm works and could comment on it we might be able to figure whether this is about it for price reductions. Definitely dont wait if you are interested in the receiver for its current price because it may run out of stock. If the price decreases between the time you order it and it gets delivered you can contact Amazon and they will give you the price adjustment. After it gets delivered they may not agree to further adjustments to your account, but then again if the price reduction is significant enough then it may be worth ordering the unit a second time and then return the first one.

The XT32 is a cost/benefit decision. Its easy to say the 818 has the latest and greatest so you just have to get it. But Its not as if the 809 doesn't have any room correction circuitry in it. It was a top of the line circuitry just a year ago. And you have to also consider how really critical your listening is, in other words, could you really notice the difference between the way the 809 adjusts for room acoustics and how the 818 does it? The guys in the AVS forums are home theatre junkies, which no offense to them, means many of them have super critical listening as their main focus. Eeeking out even slight gains are a big deal to some of them, and they replace their equipment way more often that the rest of us do just to get the latest technology. Sure it may be perceptible in a side by side comparison, but if you only had the 809 unit to go by it might sound really great to you regardless. Think about how many years you may have been listening to a receiver that had no room correction circuitry whatsoever. Bringing the 809 into the mix should sound awesome in that case. And of course this super cheap price should not be completely overshadowed by whatever gains you would get from the 818 at a $200 premium.

Man why isn't this front page I paid $479.99 for a refurb 808 last year and this is next gen and new this is a steal. If I had a job I would def buy this and throw mine up on craigslst just to get the 2 year warranty.

So I was trying to do something a little more entry level than this one, but at this price, I WANT it. Can somebody suggest some good speakers to go with this that aren't going to put me way over my budget so I can still get a great package? My original goal was under $500 total, but if I grab this, obviously I'm pretty close already. At this price, I think it's worth the splurge, but I could use some help on the rest. TIA!
