Guys i'm trying to understand this. I really am but i dont get how it works or how i get it to work.
I have/buy music on Amazon which i download to my PC then upload to Google Play (i like GP's player better but Amazon wins on price). I also have music i have ripped from CD myself and have uploaded that to Google Play too. Can i use this unifying music thing? I GOTS me a Touchpad!!! And then i sold it cause it sucked so bad!!!!

Need some help here.
I'm trying to use Google Music Manager client to upload my music collection. The problem is after the first few songs, it stops uploading--along with my HTTP-specific internet connections on the computer where said-collection is stored on. I can use Remote Desktop, check e-mail, and chat on IRC, but all web browsing ceases to work. The only fix I've found is to /release and /renew via ipconfig. Has anyone else experienced this issue? I stumbled on this thread earlier today, thanks OP. Repped.
I have a bunch of CD's that I ripped to disk about a year ago (flac format) to have an online copy of the disks on a network file server (freenas) in my house. Started my upload about noon, 2500 of 4000+ done. I did have to reset my cable modem a couple of times...not sure where the issue is as it is going through multiple points: 2 switches (gigabit) and then an ooma and then the cable modem. I also had things like netflix and a couple of other systems on at the same time, so who knows... One question for the crowd...if I also wanted to use iTunes match, what is the fastest/best way to bulk convert the 4k songs from flac to a lossless apple format? |

So if Google Music already has your album in their store, they just verify you have it and just give you their copy. This saves you time but best of all, seems like a great solution to having mp3's ripped from cd's with scratches. I have a lot of albums that have at least one song with flaws. I'm guessing this will fix that. Sweet!

http://www.m4a.com/m4a-vs-mp3/ They say "Apple devised a compression process that can still create much smaller audio files but without losing any of the original quality." That's why I thought the iTunes M4A files were lossless. I guess it makes sense that they couldn't be full lossless files, those are very large. But regardless, there's a noticeable difference there. It's not so much "quality", like the MP3s sound "bad" compared to them, or are missing parts of the audio. It's just that the M4A files are louder and seemingly clearer, making it easier to understand lyrics. It's different than just turning up the volume, the words really stand out more in an M4A file. Try it out for yourself, download the same song from Amazon and iTunes, then listen to them both at the same volume level. I'm even more confused now, lol. It seems like Amazon/Google will just switch most of my M4As to MP3s. I'm not sure what to do... |
