Redeem $40 Discover Cash Back Balance For $50 Walmart / Sams Club GC

Okay - don't mean to be thick here - but let me make sure I understand:

- You get two gift cards, one is a "membership" card which is essentially a $40 gift card, just with "membership card" written on it.

- You also get a regular $10 Sams gift card.

- You can then use both of them (plus other ones if you purchase multiple quantities) to consolidate into one walmart gift card.

Did I miss anything?

Ya, but I spend more at Sams/Walmart for groceries. So I am thinking of holding on to them, and use them, unless there is a better way to use them, but here we loose 5.5% on that by selling.

I cashed-out my $800 for 40 gift cards of $40 each. No limit.
After that, I'm hoarding all my cashback for a similar deal but nothing has come close to. I didn't sell those cards. Just used them even though shell is little expensive compared to Exxon which I normally use..

Right now we can use for 100% bonus( $80 cruise credit for $40 cashback) but I think there is a limit of 1 or 2 certificates.
I cant risk all my cashback on walmart/sams club because looks like not very straight forward..

I used to be an avid Sam's person in which case I'd keep them however I've since moved and although I still am a Sam's member, I have a free membership @ a BJ's I drive by daily and Sam's is a good 30 minutes away.

With the Shell GC's, what made selling the cards at a "loss" (from FV) easier was that Shell is always more expensive around here, a good 10 cents per gallon - so if I kept the cards and used them for gas, I'd be in roughly the same position when all was said and done.

The problem is.... with Discover Cash Back now cash at Amazon and showing up when you go to checkout.. I have my Discover cash back usually spent before I ever even got the statement.

The other option is Bed bath and beyond cards. Basically you get a $50 for cashing out $40 cash back. So 25% bonus. Use 20% coupon ( that come every week in mail..) to probably get upto 45% off in the end.

Ha. Tried the "Gift of Membership" last year. Total flail at Sam's, they get a reward of some sort for selling each membership - bought 100 GOM. They said they didn't have enough cards and would have to get them to me (had an additional $25 card as a bonus to buy, I believe). They took the individual cards, registered them and cashed in the card instead of just giving the GC. Took 6 hours to process and deliver them to my work. Took another cashier all afternoon to cancel each membership and refund one at a time.
