My Target has the greatest employees. When I call they always check what they show on-line first then double-check the actual stock. Nearly every time I call they show multiples of the item in stock but when I tell them that I would like to be sure as the price is insanely low they gladly go check actual stock and EVERY TIME they tell me sorry, the inventory system must be wrong as they are sold out.

I saw three on the clearance shelf at my local Target, but tax would have made the deal unsavory. Maybe getting the 3TB ones for $99 spoiled me.

SD is a great community. However, as much as we help each other, I think you'll find that most SD'ers actually buy the deal they find (if they want/need it) before posting the deal online. Not being a pig by not buying all of a clearance item is one thing, but not making a reasonable stab at buying one before letting others get to it is another. If the distance is long, a call to the right people is OK. There are a couple of people in the Farmingdale, NY Staples who I feel I can trust, so I ask them and they do put things aside for me.

You're correct. I've hit ONE Target clearance YMMV deal ever. Utah Mor(m)ons keep buying things too quickly. Maybe they're too tired to wait for deals, what with having 20 kids each. We need to train them to wait for price drops, rather than just shell out whatever Target wants to charge on any given day.
