Yes and only like the first 5 people at the door were able to get one. I highly doubt you'll find a 50' LED TV for even close to $300 in the near future. This is a deal.

I was debating the Haier 55" or 46", or the TCL 48" or 55" and decided to split the difference size wise with this one. Seems like a good buy for a name brand with decent reviews.

I picked mine up at Sears Hometown Store on the Monday after Thanksgiving for $499. I missed the $299 deal by one ticket…bummer. I still found it to be the best picture in the $500 price range. I tried the Insignia 50" 60hz and returned it. This one is thinner and has much better color. As for the depth, it is a back lit LED TV. It is thicker than edge lit, but at least in this situation, very even and easy to watch. There is a little bit of motion blur when watching sports within about 6-8 ft. of the screen. This dissipates as you move a little further away. It only has two HDMI inputs, so if you don't have a modern receiver, you will be somewhat limited with HDMI component hook-ups.
I am thrilled with this TV for $499.

Got two of these on black friday week for $400 at BB. Got the first one in after a week, love it, very happy with my purchase. Just finally got the second tv delivered yesterday and sold it 3 hours later for 550 off craigslist. So I would say 500 would still have been a pretty good deal, as long at you werent paying tax and shipping on it.
