They indeed do not notify you when the item is available for pickup. As I was explained by my local store manager, their web site is checking the store stock realtime, so if you are able to order for pickup, the item is pretty much guaranteed to be available... Altough we all know that there still a fat chance of salesperson having nothing for your when you come for pickup. I have 2 Advance Auto within 10 minutes driving and my rule of thumb is: if it's not available in any of these stores, I am not picking it up elsewhere.

I was chatting with a CSR one day about some issues with my cart prices. He brought up the oil restrictions and claimed that the carb.cleaner I was trying to buy had oil products in it so the codes could not be used on it or the brake cleaner. I argued that plastics contained oil products and the tons of products they carried that would be excluded if that were true.
He basically hung up on me. He posted some AAP policy about zero tolerance for offensive language during chat and then closed the chat... |
