If you already have a Vudu account and have it linked to UltraViolet already and you want the movies.

Unlink your Vudu account from UltraViolet.
Logout of Vudu.
Create new Vudu account (using OP's link) and link it to your existing UltraViolet Account.
10-movies will be added to your UV account.
Now unlink your new Vudu Account and your UV account.
Logout of Vudu.
Log back into Vudu with your original account and re-link UV.
The 10 free movies should now be added to the original account along with any previous movie's from Vudu (in addition to any free UV movies from http://www.flixster.com/ you may have gotten)

Also in case you don't know if for some reason you have multiple UV accounts you can merge them together into one from the UV account page (my.uvvu.com)

Do at your own risk, not responsible for any lost movies, account deactivation, or anything else. Smilie

I cannot verify this but if someone want to try this to see if you get the movies in HD.....

If you login to your http://www.cinemanow.com account and link it to UV you can see 9 of the 10 movies from Vudu in your CinemaNow account (missing Lethal Weapon: Director's Cut).

What is interesting is that some of the movies say Available in HD (now the licence is only for SD, but CinemaNow is saying Available in HD).... So if someone can check if CinemaNow is allowing you access to the HD that would be great.

Unfortunately for me I don't have any device that can stream HD from CinemaNow (since I have AMD for my laptop - you have to have newer Intel Chip with Intel Insider, Xbox 360, PS3, or some compatible HDTV/BluRay device --- IOS and Android only support SD too on CinemaNow)
Interesting...I got the movies in my CinemaNow account now too. Thanks. All these overlapping services are a bit confusing, but it all works out. Smilie

I have lots of free movies from the Best Buy/CinemaNow Facebook promo they had last year. I really wish they would come out with a CinemaNow channel for Roku.

I use my Xbox 360 to watch my CinemaNow content.

So you said I can't watch CinemaNow with Roku? I just bought Roku XS but didn't set up yet and want to know about this. Basically these 10 movies can be watched with computer (Intel preferred), Xbox, Play Station only?

There isn't a CinemaNow channel on the Roku yet. I'm hoping they'll eventually have one. There is a VUDU channel on Roku.

These free movies are from Vudu, which does have Roku support - in fact other in this thread state you get credit on your account for linking your Roku to your Vudu account. I don't know if CinemaNow is supported on Roku or not.

CinemaNow came into the conversion because some people where asking about HD, I noticed CinemaNow would show these moves as available in HD - however others stated even when it says that, it is not in HD.

Basically the confusion I think comes into play because UltraViolet is a service that just stores if you have a license to view a certain movie and in what format. To see/play the movie you have to visit a site that supports UV and actually has the movie you are licensed to see. Currently I believe that is limited to three sites Vudu, CinemaNow, and Flixster.

So if you buy any UV movie, from any company or as part of any BluRay, and you have your Vudu, CinemaNow, and Flixster accounts linked to your UV account - as long as that site has the movie you are licensed for (as determined by UV) they can and will stream/allow downloading of the movie.

For example - this deal from Vudu gives us 10 UltraViolet movies, those movies are added to our UV account (http://www.uvvu.com/). Now if you login to another service that supports UV like CinemaNow or Flixster you can watch any of the 10 movies that those services also carry.

In this case 9 out of the 10 movies can be watched on CinemaNow or Flixster (once Vudu adds them to your UV account) - the one movie that cannot be watched from the other services is Lethal Weapon Director's Cut. This is because both CinemaNow and Flixster don't carry the directors cut of Lethal Weapon. So in this case you have to watch this from Vudu - and in your case if Roku only supports Vudu you would watch all these movies on the Roku from Vudu.

You can always try doing the linking and un-linking again (or for the first time)
http://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=56238736&postcount=10

If you do the linking/un-linking make sure to wait a few minutes in the "new" account and verify all movies show before un-linking and linking back to original account.

No problem!

And to further add to the confusion all three of the sites sell movies that are not UV movies, thus those movies are only available from that specific service.

Last year CinemaNow had a promo where they gave away several moves a day for like a week. Lots of people on SD got a lot of free movies on CinemaNow but we can only watch them on CinemaNow since they are not UV licensed - but if we link our CinemaNow account to UV then 9 of the 10 movies in this deal will be view-able at least from the same place.
