I've used Turbotax for the last six years but have always paid for State e-filing. This is a clever and very tempting offer - saving me at least $60. I wonder if there's a way to request this cd? I just went to their website and decided to call them.
Will post if they direct on how to acquire this cd. UPDATE: Just called 800HRBLOCK and first talked with Jessica who was absolutely clueless about the promotion. After patiently explaining what I was hoping to get - being on hold for a bit, she came back and shared that this promo is for random customers only. Not very helpful - I explained this was a promotion to increase their customer base as she didn't seem to understand I was NOT a customer just yet and that is who they're marketing dept is targeting. Anyway, I hung up and called back. Spoke with Juan - who stated the same thing. They suggested I walk into an HR Block store and ask them for assistance. If anyone else decides to pursue (successfully), please post. Thanks. Last edited by Sinngrace; 12-20-2012 at 05:55 AM.. Reason: Update If you can't be nice then try being careful

I received the free promo CD in the mail, as did a few posters in this thread.
In my case, I used H&R Block @ Home in 2010 (or was it still TaxCut then?) to prepare my taxes, then switched to TurboTax for 2011 when it was offered for free to Android users. I suspect that the offer is targeted to entice previous users who filed using H&R Block software in the past but not for the 2011 tax year. |

I alos used Taxcut in the past, but have been using Turbotax online for the last few years as it was cheaper than buying the CD. |

I got one of these the other day, too. This is the second time I've gotten a free version following a year where I used Turbotax. (I basically use whichever version I get for free, first).
I also noted that it says "free state e-file" on the outside, but the inside it only says the state edition is free. I intended to hold them to the free e-file! |
If so, and if do not plan to use one of the five free E-files, would you please send it my way, of course after you use it to e-file yourself? T&R in advance...

I received a CD from them labeled "WHAT WOULD YOU PAY?". Auto run brings up a dialog that lets you scroll all the way from a minimum of $0.95 to full price on both the deluxe federal and the deluxe fed and state. The Premium version has an almost retail price on it.
says offer is good through 2/11/13. Who would pay higher than minimum and if they are charging less than a buck why not just give it away? |
