Has anyone tried making takoyaki in this pan or other ebelskiver pans?

If it works well I just might end up using it twice a year instead of once haha

I wonder if I can make Takoyaki balls... was so hype when I saw the circle shapes.

No, you can't really make takoyaki in these... the mold is just about manju size. You'll end up with huge takoyaki and most likely the center will be undercooked.

Does anyone know if anyone other than Williams Sonoma carries the Ebelskiever mix? I usually make my own but wouldn't mind finding something less expensive than the WS. A friend got me one of these pans after we were in Solvang, CA. I don't mind using the kitchen space for it. We usually make them as often as waffles and I'm glad to hear there are other items you can make with them. I'll be checking that out.

Of course, as far as breakfast goodies go, nothing beats a Dutch Baby in my book!
Prepared pantry sells the mix and also a pan, but I've never had them so can't attest to quality. Everything else I've ever bought from there is good though. They spell it a bit different (with an a) but it's the same thing. http://www.preparedpantry.com/aeb...mixes.aspx

I called Amazon and they said they will honor the price adjustment within 7 days. I tell them I will cancel Amazon Prime Account, Amazon credit card, and I will not shop with them anymore. They said NO. I guess I have to do exactly what I told her.

Cancel Amazon Prime, Cancel Amazon credit card, will not shop at Amazon. I am sure my wife will be happy with my decisions.
do a buy and return. buy a new one at the lower price and return it under the old order.

What are the reasons for you not to be happy with the purchase? Does it sound convincingly to them? If not, they will ask you to pay for shipping.
Just say there's a scratch on the item.

I have this... Bought to try to make takoyaki but it doesn't work... So for now I'm using it to make mini pancakes/filled pancakes.

Thanks God of this post Big Grin

Looks like next experiments using this gonna be Abelskiever, Banh Khot, Paniyaram, and Khanom Krok.

Anything else to use this for (other than self defense)?

You can get similar iron cast pan like this one at Asian supermarket (I live in the Bay Area) for $9 and the cover for about $3 bucks. Of course, they are made in China.
