Quick question about the upgrade... what have you been mailing in for these?

The rebate lists "Enclose an installation disk/CD or page 1 of the user manual or Quick Start Guide
from a previous Kaspersky product or competitor's product."

Do they expect you to mail a physical disc?

No, just a photocopy of the disc.

I would send a color one, just to have it look as close to the original as possible.

Make sure you havnt already used the Q4 upgrade rebate though, or you wont get it. I already have so it would only be FAR for me.

They arnt that anal..... black/white is fine. Ive done upgrade rebates like 20 times. I also always include a photocopy of the front cover of quick guide or manual with it as well to be on the safe side.

Yeah, but most discs are colored, so it might not look that great in B&W.

Norton Discs are usually yellow, so that would look kind of funky in B&W... not that I've tried.

Either way, a photocopy (B&W or Color) of the product disc should be sufficient.

I wasnt suggesting the originals arnt colored....

My point was, they dont care and it doesnt matter what it "looks" like. They are just trying to verify you had a previous version. Black&white is fine, save the expensive ink.... Again, ive done like 20-30 upgrade rebates heh, never had any issues.

Do you have a competitors product? Youre only eligible if you have a competitors product or previous version. If the answer is NO, then you wont get the rebate(duh).

I think you missed the part about "competitor's product".

Provided you have a copy of an old AV software (Trend Micro, Norton, McAfee, etc.), you should be eligible for the upgrade rebate if you haven't already submitted one this quarter for this software from Frys.

I know you weren't suggesting that... I'm just saying a photocopy of some color discs in B&W would look like crap.

If you've had no problems, then I guess they don't care. Maybe I should just write Norton 360 on a Blank CD-R and scan it.

I bought KASPERSKY lab Pure 2.0 - 3 User on 09/25 from Newegg.. will this be valid as competitors product?

Have you ever scanned anything in b&w before? It doesnt make it look that bad, its just lacking color..... Obviously writing "Norton 360" on a black cdr would be obvious.......not to mention fraud....

Thats a tough one. Is it from 2012 or earlier? Does it say anywhere? Typically it has to be stuff from the previous year. IE: you cant send in 2013 Kaspersky anti-virus stuff to get valid approval for the upgrade rebate for another 2013 Kaspersky product... You might contact Kaspersky on that one.

I'm not sure if that will be valid because technically that's a "2013" model year product, I believe.

Usually they want a product 1 year earlier than the one you are purchasing to qualify for the upgrade.

Ex. You are purchasing Norton AntiVirus 2013, they would accept any version 2012 and later.

You might want to call the Rebate Center to verify that PURE 2.0 is acceptable as an upgrade for Kaspersky AntiVirus 2013.

Ok, clearly you didn't pick up on the fact that I was joking... sheesh. Don't call the rebate police on me!

And yes, I've scanned plenty of things in B&W. It's not like color ink even costs that much more anyways. I haven't bought a cartridge in years... I refill all of my printers and I rarely print in color.
