Usually they want a product 1 year earlier than the one you are purchasing to qualify for the upgrade.

Ex. You are purchasing Norton AntiVirus 2013, they would accept any version 2012 and later.

You might want to call the Rebate Center to verify that PURE 2.0 is acceptable as an upgrade for Kaspersky AntiVirus 2013.

I have the same problem. My KASPERSKY PURE from newegg expire in a week. Should I buy Trend Micro to be sure I get the upgrade rebate?

Since your Kaspersky Pure that's expiring is an earlier version than 2013, you can use that for the Kaspersky 2013 Antivirus upgrade rebate. If you also want to do the Trend MIcro MM deal, you can pick up a copy of Norton or McAfee from Frys to use as the competitive product for that Trend Micro upgrade rebate (since the Trend upgrade rebate doesn't list Kaspersky as a competitor). It works with win8. Pretty sure. I personally would never run that garbage OS but, I believe the KIS even had windows 8 on it.

You can always download the latest version with a key anyways. It doesnt matter what version of antivirus you are buying, you can always download something different.
