I've only used Coastal and they seem fine. I actually use them as my everyday's now ever since I stepped on my WAY too expensive regular glasses. Just be sure to check the measurements of the frames and your exact prescription number.)

I've gotten 3 pairs from goggles4u in the last 2 years. They've been great every time! This is a great deal. I just paid $10+5 shipping for 1 pair last month.

Bought a pair of framed glasses before from zenni. Frame was bigger than I expected and the length was a few MMs shorter.

2 years later....feels natural to me! And the ladies love 'em...(so much that I secured a great one)

Any site that I can just take the numbers from my contact boxes and get some 'good enough' glasses? I wear my glasses probably 1-2 hours a week, I don't need them to be perfect. I don't have a current script from the eye doc and dont' want to get one, I just want to tell some chinese website what my eyes are and have them ship me some glasses. Does this exist? Surely all these places aren't legit enough to require a valid prescription right?

As many other people in this thread mentioned, Zenni Optical is great for glasses. Some of mine break but I can be hard on things, and they are only $10...easy to replace. No need to spend lots of $$ on expensive glasses or vision insurance.

From their site:

Because of patient privacy policies, it is not the practice of Zenni Optical to contact your prescribing optometrist or optician. T
That's what I'm talking about! I figure I can just use my contact RX numbers and have my wife measure my PD. If I have no astigmatism and just a value like -3.5, what do I put for the three drop down choices?

All that information should be in your prescription information (I also have astigmatism). I got a contacts exam at Sam's Club for $59 or so and it included both contact lens and glasses numbers. Glasses prescriptions are good for two years; contact lenses for one.

If you have had an exam within that time period, you can call your eye doctor and get your prescription.

Nah I just have a contact prescription. Places I've gone only give you the glasses one if you tell them you're buying glasses. I'll figure it out. I think that zero is correct for me for the CYL and AXIS, and the contact number goes for SPH.

I have bought 2 pairs from Coastal and they are great. The one pair I got from goggles4u was just ok. I feel like my Coastal glasses are better quality.

Make sure you get polycarbonate for impact resistance. Shit happens.....

I found the glassed i got from Zenni gave me a headache from a sort of "fish-eye lense" effect. I had them checked and I was told that they had teh prescription right, but I ended up throwing them away and eating the $70 I paid for 2 pairs.

However, I was extremely pleased with the pair I got from Coastal Contacts.

i can get 2 ugly pair of glasses for $20 shipped with 1.57 CR39 Lenses....how are the 1.57 CR39 Lenses lenses?

polycarbs makes the total go to $50 bucks and not worth it

Did you try wearing them for at least 30 hours. Going from different materials causes that effect. You adapt after a certain amount of wear time.

CR39 is plastic. Scratches easy and can shatter with a strong enough impact (dangerous). Vision is comparable to poly.

Yeah, I've ordered two pairs from them. They're worth every penny nod
but I doubt you'll be overwhelmed by their quality - merely satisfied.
I have 2 pairs from coastal.com. i have nothing but compliments, and paid $18 from one slickdeal, and $45 from another. No qulams about buying online. I got high index thin lenses, anti reflective 9which my eye doc wanted $69 for!) . Just make sure you get your prescription including pupillary distance from the eye doc. My eye doc hates when i ask for mine because he realizes i am not buying his name brand $250 frames in his cases. it really annoys me since i am there for an exam ,and am under no obligation to purchase anything else from him, but they feel that way and to guard my prescription and give a sour look when i ask for it.
