good price for this unit. my only complaint is that the top cabinet is not full depth, so there is less storage. but to be fair all the sears boxes are the exact same way on the basic sets.

when you damage black/red, the damage is visible and paint might chip. stainless steel is stainless steel lol

Oh okay thanks, yeah i didnt know if it was all aesthetics or if the construct was like sturdier - so I guess that answers my question

The models I looked @ Red/Black, were cheaper and of a lower quality.

So I bought the stainless model for $218 vs $ 188 for the Black model, which was available @ my Phoenix, OR Home Depot.

I bought the last one that was not the demo, much better quality then the ones for $188.

Does anyone know the weight of the unit? If I purchase it I'll have to drive about an hour to a store that still has one available and afterward will have to haul it up about 10 stairs. As a rather scrawny kid this may prove to be a little challenging. Any ideas as to whether or not this will be a problem?

Get a buddy for assistance up the stairs with the cabinet. The combo is usually packaged separately so weight should not be an issue with two people.

I got this husky tool box from HD. My home depot is kind of hit or miss. For a better chance of success, go thru customer service and check out there. I had already spent 45 mins trying to track down the tool box as they had 1 listed in stock but it was in the back, shrink wrapped to a pallet. The 25% HF coupons are not as common as the 20% available everywhere. I had a back-up 20% if that's the best they'd do. I also had a back up Lowe's mover 10%. If I couldn't use any of them, I planned on abandoning the sale.

The CSR said she had to check with the manager, the manager was on lunch. They called him but got a voice mail. Another management type in the vicinity, permitted the CSR to allow the discount and agreed to "sign off" on it. She stepped away and allowed this guy to perform the transaction. It was a total fluke but my timing was perfect.

Congrats to conglomerazzi and others who scored with the 25% coupon. The fine print on the 20% and 25% coupons have an exception for "tool storage or carts" so hats off to you folks who had success with the coupon

asked for sears GC's for christmas, was gonna get a craftsman, but this one is really nice! its worth 298 all day long, now i can go to sears and blow that on tools!

500 lb. load capacity.

For a nine drawer, that's not going to be good for you for much more than light duty (i.e., if you have a lot of heavy tools, that 500 lb. load is going to be used up pretty quick).

Looked at this in store, it definitely looks nice, just going to come down to what your tool storage needs are.
