Resharper is incredible! Keeps your code so clean, and the shortcuts are fantastic. I'm thinking of picking up IDEA and PHPStorm. IDEA can do PHP, but I think PHPStorm has some extra features like "Open Directory" and live edit. (actively editing html/java)

75% off $200 = $50 for something that is supposedly "LEGENDARY"... http://bit.ly/Zn83JG I went to a .NET user group last night and learned of ReSharper and actually saw the deal before it was posted here... I haven't read one bad review. Again, I hope you choose to get it, and I am not being a dick... but you know as well as I do...as developers we often get a false sense of security of knowing how to do something quickly and easy, but then when we go to do it, we may have to do a quick google search to get a few examples/syntax (read: Linq)... Apparently what this tool does... and from what I read does extremely well is the following:
These are a couple of reasons why I picked it up today... and its only $50... that is a steal. |

It can add assembly reference and include a using automatically if u typed in something that is not in a referenced assembly. You can navigate to any class in your solution with couple of keystrokes... Like someone said..you have to use it to know it..And it consumes a lot of plugins too..like stylecop etc. |

Between the navigation features (go to implementation, go to file, go to method) the refactoring ability (extract variable, extract method, change iteration to linq) and doing those things in such a way that you know is safe and will work without having copy pasta errors, I would say I have gained at LEAST on average 30 minutes a day of productivity. Is an extra 30 minutes a day of productivity worth 50 bucks to you? I would hope so. Also, intellij is the only Java ide that I find is even remotely close to visual studio. Eclipse sucks the big fat one and net beans or whatever is just not good. I own resharper 5, will probably purchase this and intellij. EDIT: I completely forgot about the auto import feature. If you start typing a type for a variable and you don't have the import, it will suggest an import for you from the system Assemblies or the projects referenced By your project. Just another neat simple thing that saves 10 seconds of your day. Add that up in a large project and you're looking at a savings of maybe 5 minutes FROM THAT FEATURE ALONE. I seriously cannot stress enough about how good their stuff is for .net devs and they bring some of that love to Java devs with intellij. Even intellij has some of resharpers fucntionality.
