Anyone know if there is a way to pick when word prediction is active?

For instance, on the mobile chrome browser (and most mobile browsers now) you can search google straight through the address bar. However, Swiftkey doesn't do word prediction in the address bar (I'm guessing because it expects a URL, even though I almostly universally type google searches in there).

Is there a way to tell it that I do want it to do word predictions and corrections on that field, not to mention change the layout (get rid of the ".com" button that replaces most of the spacebar).

Yes, although Flow is extremely hit-or-miss right now, which is understandable because it's in beta. If I start sliding to write a sentence, if it has an issue with one word, I've lost everything it hasn't already written. I've gone back to SK3 until SKF is out of beta.

I used to use Swype and then tried Swift when it was on sale. Never looked back. The only time I miss Swype is when I need to type one handed. Seeing that guys are saying this will be a feature of Swift soon, there is no reason not to try this.

I never understood why people like Swype. I can type way faster with my 2 thumbs that with one finger swyping...and with pretty good autocorrect, I can generally bang out error free sentences at a pretty amazing rate. This keyboard is definitely the best I've tried (which include Samsung standard keyboard as well as HTCs, Swype, and Better Keyboard". This is well worth the $2.

good point. I've had the phone version for a long time but I just bought the tablet version for my nexus 7. the phone version will work on tablets (nexus 7 anyway), but the tablet version makes typing much better in landscape mode.

So, buying the phone version won't give me the app on the tablet? I have a Nexus 7 and a galaxy S2.

I had it on my old Android, but then I figured out it was slowing down my phone, so I uninstalled it. I then put it on my Galaxy Nexus (because I do like it). But again, over time I realized my phone was slowing dramatically. I uninstalled it and things perked up again. So while I like the functionality, the standard Google keyboard caught up pretty well.

Are you running custom fw or anything? I have a Nexus and it's smooth as butter on mine..

I have the "phone" version installed on both my GS3 and N7. On my GS3, there's a Split Layout option under Theme but that option isn't available on my N7. It essentially makes it a tablet version in landscape. Kind of lame that that option is gone on my N7 even though the same version is installed on both devices.

this was .25 during the recent google play anniversary sale. kinda kicking myself now for not getting it then.

How does the keyboard compare to the stock Jellybean 4.2 keyboard?

No, stock OS. (It's the International Unlocked version.) Anyhow, I do a lot of voice recognition instead of typing so it also is faster to bring up the google voice software from google's own keyboard. So I don't miss it.
