I'd say tax kills this for most. Samsung's new UPP model is in effect and there are no "deals" to be found anywhere on their nicer Plasma/LED panels. Given their record number of HDTV units sold in October, I imagine this new fixed pricing model is here to stay for the foreseeable future.

Well, Samsung just lost my business as I refuse to accept their stupid price policy... there are other manufacturers with great products out there.

"Dealers are free to sell products at whatever prices they choose to," Stinziano clarified, "but our unilateral policy says that if you sell below a certain price, there is a schedule of penalties that goes along with that." ------ This obviously discourages retailers from cutting the consumer a deal. While I understand their reasoning, I don't think Samsung's reputation has earned the right to dictate price. Compared to an Apple who implements similar practices, for example, Samsung's CS dept is subpar and their quality is nowhere near superior to competing brands. It seems to be working, however, which is a shame. |

This is a great TV and does include a wireless bluetooth keyboard in the box (which the UN60ES7100 does not), but keep in mind the way that Costco rings up this TV is:
$3149.99 + tax - $1200 instant rebate So the $1749 + tax isn't quite accurate. You end up paying tax on the extra $1200 before it is taken off. For my local tax rate (5.1%) that comes out to $61.20 in extra tax For me, this TV works out to $2110.64 - $200 cash card = $1919.64 This price is not bad considering that you can pick it up locally and do get the wireless keyboard, but the recent online deals (i.e. Amazon, BuyDig) for $1997 with $200 gift/Visa cards were a bit better. |

But this is also why you are seeing 'Cash Cards' or other store credit. I am fine with keeping the price what it is, just offer further incentives at the retailer. When it is a store like Costco I do not mind gift cards.
Sure I wish it was not this way but Samsung does make some good TV's! |

I was looking at getting this deal, but it sounds like some of you on here think this is overpriced due to the fixed pricing by Samsung. Are there other comparable TVs for a better price right now from another manufacturer? I've searched but this seems to be the best bang for the buck right now.
