Sharp AQUOS 80" 1080p LED LC-80LE633U $3,899.99 after $500

projectors are only good for watching movies in a light controlled room.
it's a heck of a lot easier, and better, to turn on a TV for casual viewing.

for movie night in my media room/basement, then yeah, a projector would be better.

I would invest in this but to not have 3D when 3D's will be become common over the next 2-3 years is a minus. 3D on a 80inch would be sick

The 3d topic has me wondering... Are 3d tv's able to convert (or upscale) almost anything to 3d (blue ray, video games, dvds etc)? or does it have to be a 3d source?

I offered someone $600 for a one month old lg 55" 3d LED and he said he would take it. I am thinking about waiting because I dont need a new tv right now, I just want one

Benq w7000 for ~$1600 will be more than bright enough with a small screen size such as 80" I have it with a 130" / 1.0 gain screen and it is still fairly bright. With a projector however, you have to worry about it getting dimmer / buying bulbs etc. I wouldn't use it for everyday tv watching. I use it just for movies.

What do you mean upscale to 3d? If the source is not 3D, no TV can convert them to 3D. This is not like a DVD being upscaled to 1080p by certain players.

I didn't like 3D in the 50's, 60's, 70's 80's or now. Unless they can find a way to watch 3D without those stupid glasses 3D will never catch on.
