Not so
The VR version sells for about that, the VR II version generally goes for $550-625, so it's not that bad. it's a great all-purpose lens. Not the best at anything, but really very handy. It's on my camera 50% of the time. (and if you can actually find a VR II for $400, please let me know where -> I'd love to swap out my first-gen VR) |

I have checked ebay and you might get $500 for this lens minus ebay fees. It is better to buy new or used d7000. I myself thinking of buying just the camera from dell using amex $150 off promo. |

good deal on about to be updated version. All good color accuracy.
Oh Wait! you will regret it because it is a 2010 version, and you now want to upgrade to FX, and you are not happy with 18-200mm lens. But you will keep the 50mm for sure. Also an old version. This is how much it should worth: D7000 = $750 18-200mm = $400 50mm AF-S G (not this one) = $220. Bag $30 Battery Grip= make it $10 because a single charge will shoot forever for any beginner. TOTAL: Not so good deal. I am changing my vote. My bad, I forgot about the Sandisk SD Card. Okay deal. Leave the vote as-is. But don't you ever regret it, just close your eyes and takes lots of pictures everyday with it. You will still be very happy. And if you are keeping, 18-200mm will not be on your camera 50% of the time, because you will love the 50mm AF-S 1.8G (not this AF 1.8D) so much that 18-200mm will be just zero % on the camera. Good camera and price, but since the successor is coming out soon, I would wait and just get the new one if I was in the market for one. I got mine (body + 18-200 VR2 + bag) from Costco little over a year ago, for $1700. I had a D50, 18-55mm, 24mm, 50mm nikor lens before this. I mostly stick with the 18-200 lens because it's just convenient, but otherwise use 24mm. Nice set, but it's kind of heavy compared to the D50 that I was used to. Then couple months back I also got a white Olympus xz-1 ($200). I still need to read the instructions for the xz-1. |

i got the d7000 brand new and a first gen 18-200 VR for $1000 flat. didnt really have to make use of the VR function since even at 1600ISO on the d7000, noise was pretty low. therefore, i saw no reason to get the VR II version. also read that the VR II had construction issues with some containing metal shavings inside the barrel. optically, it's the same.
