And you can save a bit more by purchasing Dell eGift cards.
Purchase Amount → Bonus Dell GC (combinable by phone or chat, not on line)
$300 → $50.00
$400 → $75.00
$500 → $90.00

Sign up for Dell's Advantage Loyalty Program, or use your existing Advantage membership, for an additional 10% off (rebated later in the form of Dell GC).

So, assuming that you purchase the Dell 660 with no options and no sales tax, you could buy a new i5 Dell 660 for $400 with $70 left over in gift certificates. I.e., the net cost of this deal is approximately $330.

Even lower with student discounts, military discounts, and other negotiated discounts. Lower still with rebates from cashback sites and from your credit card company.

One person reported negotiating a price over the chat line of $392, with tax he paid $415. With cashback rebates on the GC purchase (FW, e%%tes, Mr. Re%%tes), Dell $75 bonus GC, Dell Advantage 10% promo, and credit card reward points; the net cost of his deal might have been under $300. Yes, under $300!

---------------------------------------------------------------

EDIT: Note: The original price was $499.99, reduced to $449.99 (as noted by several people below).
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Not sure when it ends, I think its a safe bet that itll be there Monday still.

One thing though, whichever rep you end up dealing with, make it very clear that you want the combo of the GC and the monitor, otherwise they'll just put the standard S2440L monitor in your basket and you'll never get a GC. I had that issue with a couple reps, they thought the giftcard was just a dell advantage rebate, which it isn't.

Can I just say, Dell is terribly unorganized.

I used one 75 promo giftcard on two purchases. As in, I got 75$ off on two different orders.

Also, I got two Dell advantage rebates for every purchase one in the mail, one via egiftcard. I rarely check my post mail, so I complained to a Dell rep saying I hadn't received anything and they ended up emailing me promo cards. To my surprise I checked my mailbox this weekend, there were my physical giftcards, loaded, and different numbers than the emailed promo cards I got.

Rediculous, but I'm ok with their screw ups!
That was a nice screw up! I ended up calling today and to my surprise they really couldn't combine my gift cards and give me a new number she also needed to complete my transaction. So of course I had the coupon issue again but she just adjusted my total. Then I had to tell her it came with a gift card three times. She said she had the correct one but I can't tell from the email she sent maybe I should print my cart total just incase. Did the gift card come with it or weeks later? She did keep asking me for an item number I could not see one. I hope it's correct.

10-15 days after.

If you have issues, let me know. I screen capped the promo, and the item in my cart to have some proof if it doesn't work out.

It ended up not being the correct monitor after four hours on the phone and the chat I finally requested a manager call me would be able to help me I asked him if he could just apply the $50 E gift card to my total and he said he would be sending me out a $50 coupon mo sure exactly what coupon is then I realized they did not applied my loyalty advntage 2 day shipping and my 5%. Ugh dell's customer service is horrible. It especially irritates me that they list. Number on the emil that dosent work. Well I will see if the manager follows through.

In the link I provided, if U scrooll down a bit further U will see this :

"f you have a new PC with Windows 8 and want to upgrade to 8 Pro, YOU CAN DO IT FOR THE $14.99 price through Microsoft (as many found out from the Dell Inspiron 660 Deal around Christmas time). Just call the Microsoft Store, tell them you have a PC with 8 and want the upgrade to 8 PRO under the $14.99 deal. They'll do the remote support thing and take over control of the PC while they walk you through it. You go through the Windows 7 upgrade link and they give you a discount code at check out. Some people reported having to call a few times to get the right person. I lucked out on my first call.

"

Call Microsoft store, and ask for a REMOTE LINK Setup, that will take control of PC , while U talk to the Sales person simultaneosly. Ask also to download the ISO file too, while U are at it.

After Windows 8 Pro is setup, remember to ADD the Winsows Media center for FREE if not after Jan31st, it will another 9.969, I think or more.

Hope that helps...

Thanks...worked like a champ! Even going to call me back in a few hours to make sure everything went ok with the download, and get the Media Center loaded and running.
Just took awhile to get through to a tech...about 25 min wait.

All that work is Not necessary, it's been posted easy as this:

iI just want to share a good deal for any one who bought windows 8 and want to upgrade to pro for just $15. Until Jan 31, you still get promo code for Windows 8 Pro for $15.
You can use product key after you bought W8P to upgrade your Windows 8 machines to Pro.
You will save $50 ~ $55.
I have done this for my 2 laptops successfully
.

How u did?

Quote from ngvuanh :
It is really easy.
However, you must have a computer not runningg windows 8 to buy product key.
Once you bought it, just enter it to your w8 computer.
On W8, move your mouse or swipe from the left display to pop the menu, then click on PC Setting. You will see a link says Add Features. This is where you need to go to enter your key.

That's fine for people who have another PC. The other instructions were for those people who got this computer and wanted to upgarde the OS on it.
