Why are you worried they will ship you a different model/specs ?
When you Google the UPC (885909523504) listed on the FRYS Macbook Air web page you get the same computer with the same specs at places like J&R

Because the model no. PK6405 listed on fry's website is not the model no. of this computer. I am not worried that fry's is trying to fool us on purpose. However, I don't want to be out $25+ for shipping + return shipping if it does somehow ship the wrong model. I am not aware of what their policy is on returns.

Just a heads-up in case anybody still doesn't know: there's a lottery in place to decide whether you get a good or terrible one. I'm biased because I work with photos and video quite a bit and the screens on these Airs aren't up to scratch.

This is Apple's worst product, bar none. You have a poor chance of getting the superior Samsung panel and SSD, and these things are garbage with the LG panel and/or Toshiba SSD. Notice that all other Apple portables prominently tout the nice IPS screen, but the Air doesn't. That's because it's got TN, and often not a very good one. Otherwise it's a sleek and practically perfect machine, great battery life etc. Check it out in-store before jumping on this deal.

iPads and iPhones have IPS screens. IPS still don't come in all sizes and resolutions. I don't think all other macbooks have IPS.

Exactly, stop spreading pointless information. Please provide a link that the Toshiba SSD is poor quality compared to Samsung then it will be an issue which one you get.

There is only one Macbook air model with 13.3 screen 4GB/128GB and intel HD4000 graphic chip. Not sure what you are talking about.

With Macs it's all about multi-touch and gestures on touchpads which PCs haven't been able to match (that's OS + Hardware).

I never said there where multiple modelsl 13.3" Macbook Airs with those specs. I just don't understand what they may possibly send you that would be different then what was listed on the product page at Frys.

Still I don't see any reason to panic and think you will recieve anything besides the 13.3" i5 Ivy Bridge,Macbook Air, 4 GB of Ram, 128GB, 4000 HD graphics version. It is the lowest version of the 13.3" 2012 Air. Maybe you will get lucky and they will ship you the 256GB version. No need to be so negative.

I agree that a Samung panel would look better then the LG. I just didn't agree the SSD would have any real world performance difference based only on useless benchmarks.
