Pedantic semantic rant: This is NOT an SLR. It's an SLR styled body, but there is no single lens reflex.

Was debating between this and the GX1. Not sure which lens to get, I plan to do mainly bokeh shots, Olympus 45mm f/1.8 or or Panasonic 25mm f/1.4
You must defeat Sheng Long to stand a chance.

The G5K special deal at $399.99 is over (timed out), but since they only sold 50% of their stock there's always a chance it will be offered again. Currently it's at $499.99 from Amazon.
I'm still not clear on which is the better choice between the G5K and the GH2K bodies if someone more knowledgeable can provide some guidance in this regard. TIA! |

I have the G2. The articulating screen, manual dials, and Electronic Viewfinder, and built-in grip are all reasons you want to choose a G or GH camera vs the GF series. I would like to pick up either the G5 or GH2 since they are both significantly better at handling noise in low-lighting situations. If you want to take pictures indoors without a flash, this is a must.
If you want to do serious video (as in make sorts or films), get the GH2 or the new GH3. Otherwise I think the G5 will still do great photos and home video. I hope they bring this back. Seems like a great deal when combined with the lens discount. |
