No name brand probably made in China. Is it programmable? This would be a great gift though for someone who doesn't have a slow cooker. I just bought a 3.5 qt Cuisinart at Sears, com for $45 using my SYWR points for my dad. This is just too huge for a family of 2. For $10 though it's worth the risk.

thanks. got one in stock locally so i ordered it.

i got the hamilton beach 4 quart one for $10 two weeks ago from sears but wanted bigger. will have to return it
I got that one, too. It's worked fantastically, so I'm wondering if this is a better deal.

hella deal if you use this with the paypal 10 of 30.. that's 3 slow cookers for 20 bucks.

i just dunno when I'd ever need 3 slow cookers..
picked up one with 15% off discover. (10% homedepot // 5% online/department store bonus)

been curious about using a slow cooker.. I guess this is my chance to try for under $10 bucks

Home Depot has a review on it: (plus there's a PDF of the manual)
When I first saw the low price for this item, I thought "There's got to be something wrong with this cooker". But for the price, I decided to purchase it any how and take my chances. This is your basic slow cooker, with a built in digital timer, it has three cook settings, low, high, and warm, with indicator lights for each setting. The timer can be set in incraments of 30 minutes, up to ten hours, the time is displayed in red digital numerals. Along with the stainless steel cooker, there is an oval 5 quart ceramic bowl and glass lid, instructions, with a few recipes included. I decided to give it a test run, and make a potato and sausage stew, then after several minutes of cooking I discovered a terrible design flaw, you cannot see the digital readout from a standing position, the design of the front panel covers half of the digital display, therefore You must bend down and put your eyes level with the front panel in order to see the numeric time display. this is very annoying and inconvenient, and might explain the low price, and is the main reason I only gave it a 3 star rating. However, the timer and cooker worked very well, the stew came out very good, the cooker will switch to the warming feature once the programmed time has elapsed, this is a real nice feature, plus the functions are easy to use, and the crock pot and glass lid are easy to clean. Overall, for the price this is not a bad slow cooker, the one digital design flaw is a real minus for me, not sure if I want to keep it, maybe it will grow on me.

Yeah, I doubt it would work.

I'm going to put in an in store order anyways to save 3 potentially. I can cancel and pay for them in store with paypal instead right? I would think so.

Hrmm in stock in my area. I have a crock pot already but it's one of those deep ones and I don't really enjoy using it because it only has a low and high setting which is fine but I'd love to have it more controlled. But for only $10 I might just go pick one up. Anybody know if this will fit a small chicken? Like 3-4 lbs?
Sure. A 5 Quart Crock Pot will easily fit a 3-4 lb chicken.

You're kidding, right?? It's electronic, can you guess where?? You don't seriously think it was made in the USA, where we can only produce nothing but beer and hookers!!

Edit: on a side note, got to love something listed in the specifications......Manufacturer Warranty N/A!!
You also have to love that there is no name brand, even in the online manual, it is likely made in China and this is something that it typically plugged in, left to cook all day when you're at work or all night while you're sleeping. Seems a bit risky to trust your house (and lives?) to something like this, when you don't even know who designed and built it.
I'm not saying not to get this. I'm saying to use it on a weekend, during the day, when you're home. At least the first time; just to make sure it works right and doesn't do anything unexpected.
