Instructions for installing the "Bootleg" FF7 mod installation tool (think Nexus Mod Manager for Skyrim).

video showing of a modded version of FF7

Steam overlay works with this game
-add the launcher (not the game .exe) found in the install folder as a "non Steam game"

Game can be installed on more than 1 PC and played simultaneously (I have it running on a desktop and laptop)

Internet connection is not required to play the game after activation

I purchased this when it first came out... it was a horrible horrible port. Is this the same one and has been updated?

lol

i posted those because a lot of times old games (FF7 came out in 1997) either run really bad or not at all on modern hardware.

my GTX 670 maxes out at 1185mhz with my current clock settings. it stays around 200mhz while running this game and the GPU usage is around 5% per EVGA Precision X... lol

"My penis is small and I'm hoping someone goes 'WOOOOOOWWWW WHAT AN AWESOME RIG DUDE, OF COURSE IT WILL PLAY IT NO PROBLEM OMG PROBABLY WITH BF3 AT THE SAME TIME', since obviously I can't be serious about asking if a port of a 16 year-old game will run on modern hardware".

Huh. Weird. Jealous? I see no reason for the trolling.

OP himself managed to find the humour; why are you trolling with long-form "u jelly bro?" posts?

actually my "lol" was quoted and not for you. i reported your post for being vulgar and having no business here. i assume you have never tried installing an old game on a modern PC. FF7 is widely known as one of those old games that was (until this 2012 re-release) nearly impossible to get running consistently....

and why would anybody brag about a PC powered by a CPU that came out in 2008?

Does the official PC version have speed changes for faster playing?

I never finished FF7 and as an avid PS supporter, I feel wrong. I would much rather emulate it on my phone for mobility though. Not sure if that is viable option to play out the game without hiccups in the emu, ROM, or Droid X.

Character Booster ruins this IMHO. Grinding, while very annoying at times, is part of the charm. Not to mention the extra levels gained from it helped. I know that you don't have to use it, but it baby-downs the game for the noobs that will for sure abuse it.

Plus it was fun grinding just to buy Cloud's villa!

Also I remember pulling out an old PC copy many years ago, and the minigames (such as the snowboarding game) would play in super fast motion. This was on an Athlon 64 x2. I'm sure they fixed that issue with this release.

are you talking about the original 1998 PC version?

this was released in August of this year. it was updated to work (unlike the original port).
