Instructions for installing the "Bootleg" FF7 mod installation tool (think Nexus Mod Manager for Skyrim).

video showing of a modded version of FF7

Steam overlay works with this game
-add the launcher (not the game .exe) found in the install folder as a "non Steam game"

Game can be installed on more than 1 PC and played simultaneously (I have it running on a desktop and laptop)

Internet connection is not required to play the game after activation

All this yapiddy yap makes me wanna summon Knights of the Round on this thread.
Lol, I'm sure one of the whiners would immediately use a phoenix down and revive it right afterwards.

After reading many posts, I'm glad I'm not the only person in the world who didn't like FF7. I remember getting this game for free with my Voodoo2 card, the graphics were impressive back in the day, but the game didn't feel right to me.

My personal fav was I think 4, the one with Celes, and her throwing herself off a mountain, it had such a great story line, if I didn't get rid of my SNES, I would have played it again, ahh the regrets I have of that, and I tried using some emulators, but that particular game seems to be buggy.

I'd sacrifice great graphics for better writing/story line any day, it's just like music from the 90's and on, it's all fluff and crap.
FF6 runs flawlessly on modern emulators..

I heard they changed the music in the remake. Can someone confirm this?

They tweaked the music to go from Sony sequencer (not too far from midi) to an audio format for PC.

Also it's a revised port, not a remake. It works for Win7 and you also get critical bug fixes (ex. bugs that prevent progressing, and force you to replay and old save), dialog fixes (ex. grammar). The tweaked visuals and audio, such as text dialog boxes and increased visual clarity in general, as opposed to heavy shadowing and grain covering everything up, is just how they happened to tweak it to better suit the PC.
