The Vortex weighs more than the TRS, but neither are what I would call heavy. I have a 32x scope on one of my uppers, and that is what I would call a heavy sight, but I also have a bi-pod on it since it is only for long distance shooting anyway.
Travian and Pardus suck! Damn foreign, egomaniacal developers!
I was looking at this Vortex package but thought about getting the 6x magnifier for +$30 and the quick disconnect for +$20.
Anyone have any feedback on this magnifier over the Mako 7X Magnifier for Red Dot/Reflex Sights (3rd Generation) LINK[amazon.com]
How about the quick disconnect..is it any good or is there a better mount for not much more?
Thanks guys, this is my first AR, so I need the help.
I bought the Mako 7x magnifier and sent it right back. The mount it comes with has so much play in it is wasn't funny. The magnification wasn't great either, I looked though it and then through another scope set at 7x magnification, and the Mako was no where close to the clarity or magnification. Even if I would have spent the money for a better scope mount, the other problems would still be there.
Here is one of my babies with the Bushnell TRS-25 on it, and Dueck RTS 45 Degree Offset Sights. Pic is from an Ebay auction, in no way am I trying to self promote the sale since all of you have better sense than to buy Pmags at the current Ebay prices. LOL
This comes with the riser so right out of the box you can co-witness. Have it on my M&P15 with mbus g2 backups. I replaced the stock lens covers with Butler Creek ones. I got in on the BF deal and have used it at the range a dozen or more times, real happy with it.
Can this or TRS25 be used on an AK47 and a 22 pistol (like Mark III or Buck Mark)? What's the effective range?
I mentioned I have one of those on a Buckmark and it is a good fit for that use. My brother has one on his Mark III and it works well on that too.
Effective range? I don't know. It is a 3 MOA dot if i remember right so the dot is 3 inches at 100 yards, so I guess it probably just depends on your eyesight and how accurate you want to be. I mean it would be hard to shoot small targets past 100 yards with any red dot.
