It's more for movies than cranking music. Most of these are 80 watts anyway.
This appears to have features I've been looking for lately.
The only concern I have is the upmixing description. My current system can simulate surround but it's unpredictable sometimes and is it going to interpret digital audio via hdmi correctly? I think it will but I'm not sure.
It also looks like it can make my composite only Xbox 3D capable.
Bought this from Fry's for $177 the BF weekend. IMHO, in terms of sheer sound quality, you won't find anything that beats this for the price. Basic, but solid. It does lack more advanced features, but honestly, with a Nexus Q and an HTPC in my setup, I'm glad it didn't come with 1024 features I would never use.
Drives my Infinity P363's, PC350 and Polk PSW110 beautifully. If you're looking for a good, basic A/V receiver, you cannot go wrong with this.
I do have to note that the remote that came with my unit was kinda wonky. Certain functions just didn't work. I thought the receiver itself was defective, but everything worked fine once I setup my Harmony 1100 to control the receiver.
