huge difference between being frugal and getting a slick deal, you can be getting a slickdeal on a superior product, whether superiority is based on marketing/branding or the actual quality of the build or service itself. this forum isn't strictly dedicated to being frugal but getting a cheaper deal on X product over the market

Comparing a watch to a TV is a bit silly. But even at that, I think most of us here on SD would find it to be a waste of money spending the $2k on a TV. There are options for half the price or less that are just a nice if you spend the time researching.
