Verizon Fios 79.99 Triple Play 2 yr Contract 300.00 gift card expires 1/5

Have any existing customers had success getting into this plan?

I tried to get just Verizon Fios internet by itself and the cheapest plan they offer in my area is $59.99/month (+ taxes) which goes up to $64.99/month (+ taxes) after a year...and thats for only 3 Mbps speed. I don't understand why Verizon Fios doesn't offer an "affordable" internet only plan. They might have a very good service/system, but their prices are outrageous. Unfortunately for most of their bundles, after a year or two, the price goes through the roof....beware!

Even though they're not rated as good as Fios, I'll probably end up switching to Time Warner Cable from AT&T for my internet because at least they offer an internet only plan that is somewhat affordable.

This is standard deal here. Wish they'd have a real "promo" like free DVR for life...

Won't be a problem for me, I will just switch back to Charter as a new customer.

I tried yesterday via chat and was shot down repeatedly. Best I was offered was the deal under my last (now expired) contract, which was $100/month for the the same features as this deal except the voice plan was different in some nonessential way.

I might try calling and asking for retentions and at least get a break on equipment fees.

You get what you pay for. Fios is rock solid and fast even at 15/5.

I was on chat with them for an hr. They wouldn't budge. I'm out of contract now so the price went up and they wanted to charge the current price to re-up for 2 years. I didn't have the patience to speak to retention yet. If that doesn't work, I'll just go somewhere else. Seems like they only want to sign new customers and don't care about keeping current ones.

Thanks. That is the same boat I am in. Looks like I will have to head back to Comcast for a bit and then switch back. Rep'd to shopping, philly, and bobby for the info.

If FIOS is available in cities around you, most likely it is your city/town council's fault. FIOS is literally in every city surrounding us and we don't have it because the council wanted Verizon to bend over backwards and give them all kinds of free stuff.

I pay for 15/5 and I get 25/5 in reality... ;-)

I absolutely HATE fios!

...because they are not available in my area!

When it first came out I signed up for their email notification when it would be available in my area.(Easter Long Island, NY) Been waiting years and years and then found out they are no longer expanding! UGGH!

So now I'm stuck Optimum online as they will continue to have a monopoly in my area. Optimum is SOOO frustrating because the signal constantly drops. Constantly going in and out. And since it's a shared bandwidth can really slow at peak times. And I even pay extra for their "optimum boost"

Fios would be a god send to not have to deal with constant drops anymore. Plus would save a lot of money too, at least the first 2 years. AND get a $300 gift card! This is a fantastic deal. So jealous I can't get it.
