I pay for 15/5 and I get 25/5 in reality... ;-)
Ditto. Mine is closer to 20/5 but I'm happy. Way better than the AT&T crap I had where I was lucky to get 5/1.

I did just get my first bill and they're charging me well over the 79.99 so I gotta call and deal with cs.

I tried to get just Verizon Fios internet by itself and the cheapest plan they offer in my area is $59.99/month (+ taxes) which goes up to $64.99/month (+ taxes) after a year...and thats for only 3 Mbps speed. I don't understand why Verizon Fios doesn't offer an "affordable" internet only plan. They might have a very good service/system, but their prices are outrageous. Unfortunately for most of their bundles, after a year or two, the price goes through the roof....beware!
In my area, they want $70 + tax for internet-only. But for $10 more, they will add 200 HD channels of Tv.
They will not budge on the price of just internet. Screw 'em.... Panera is free Smilie

Seems like they only want to sign new customers and don't care about keeping current ones.
Sounds about right with all the providers.. I might switch to a different provider and see how it goes.

Anyone know how long you have to be unsubscribed with them before you would be considered as a new customer again?

Verizon is good. But when your bill goes up and down by 3-5 dollars every month, you'd know how frustrating this is. Especially after your contract is over. If the equiptment hasnt been checked out by them(You have to mail it to them and they have to inspect them) before the due date, you will pay for an extra FULL MONTH even if they recieved the items before the due date(I guess theyre lazy to inspect them). I didn't know it'd take 6 business days for them after they recieved the devices to get them inspected.
Never again verizon

Mind if I ask how much more over 79.99 they are charging? I'd imagine it's a bunch of taxes.

I have standard verizon phone for $39 and almost $14 of that is in taxes (~35%) each month which is crazy ........

I pay 5.61 in Government Surcharges and taxes and 4.58 in verizon surcharges. My city charges 8% utility tax and the S.O.B's filed for BK protection

I told the rep I would do that and he said they do it by address and I would have to have the service off for like 60 days to be considered a new customer.

Actually when you are putting a bundle together on their website, you get an option to select 50mbps plan for just $5 more.
