How long is the warranty for the blender in this deal?

The VItamix CIA blender was $359.99 on a lightning deal with Amazon this week. Free shipping and no tax sealed the deal as my costco membership expired last year

Comment... I own both. Bought the Vitamix first... and wasn't going to look back. Someone on SD commented about the texture of the soup that VM made... and I knew exactly what he meant. Both my wife and I hated the texture of some of the mixes... mostly the soups. I bought the Blendtec at Costco, knowing I could return it if I needed to - the texture of the soup was much better - just as the poster said. I really wanted to prefer and keep the VM - but I can't. It's going on ebay. I will say theVM is far heavier duty - but all that matters to me is the end result - something I'll want to eat.

We have a vitamix and a friend has a blendtec. We made soup side by side and the vitamix cooked the soup much hotter a better consistency. Now she wants a vitamix LOL!! To each his own...

Never made hot soups in my Vitamix but I make smoothies, hummus, and homemade healthy ice cream desserts in it all the time. Never had a blendtec but I can tell you I love my Vitamix. I would never thought I would spend 400 dollars on a blender but if you want quality and use it all the time like I do its a great investment.

My homemade healthy icecream: 1 cup almond milk, 1 scoop vanilla protein powder, 1 banana, 1-2 cups frozen fruit of your choice. Blend that up, use tamper to jam that thickness into the blades & its instant healthy goodness that fills both the protein and sweet tooth requirements of a meal!

very much like mousse - very unlike soup and unappealing. my wife and i loved the soup - these blenders are awesome for that - but neither of us wanted to make it in the VT, so I stopped. I do a ton of green smoothies and I run a popular smoothie newsletter - here is my very simple comparison of the two:

-- blendtec: easier to clean, looks more Apple designed, all models fit under counter, a pinch less expensive, has no tamper, has buttons for programs like smoothie or soup, a bit quieter than the vitamix

-- vitamix: has a tamper which i find is helpful, jar is harder to clean, not all models fit under counter, has to be manually run for the speeds (some new models have the blendtec buttons)

here is what i tell people when they email me - both machines are awesome and you can't go wrong - go to costco and watch them and then decide..i use the blendtec because i wanted easier to clean, better looking, fit under counter.

you should also go watch John's videos on youtube (user rawfoods) - he has TONS of videos on both - i think he prefers the vitamix overall

those are all awesome - but you're really missing out not making soups as well.
