Got my Y580 today. Like others, confirming that the keyboard is white backlit. Build quality is better than I thought, though I can definitely can tell the difference from my old X61T. Will see if I'll have trouble installing windows onto my 256gb M4 tomorrow. Is there a way to image the current windows 8 on the 1TB HDD to the SSD or do I need to fresh install with a CD? Also which would be easier to install onto the SSD as a boot drive, windows 7 or 8?

Did a clean installation of windows 7 pro on the mSATA, installed all drivers, did windows update. Now I can dual boot windows 7 or 8 not that I want 8 after getting 7 back again tho, can't believe microsoft pulled that sh1t by making some half-assed tablet GUI and redirecting onto the desktop windows for convenience sake. It's clearly not made for a PC

The new Mantra (since windows 7) is to CHARGE people to activate bits of hardware, such as 2nd monitors. For only *ANOTHER* $40 (Windows 8 'Professiona') you can have your 2nd monitor back! What's next in Windows, charging users by the mouse-click?? *snicker*. I'm pretty sure I'm through buying new versions of Windows ...

My backlit keyboard doesnt seem to light up the right portion of the spacebar anymore I could have sworn it was illuminated at some point. Its only lit on the very left. Anyone elses like this?
