Radio Shack has the HTC One V for Virgin Mobile for $49.99 this week (Starting 12/23).
If you spend $50 or more you get $10 back in coupons, so I'm sure you can find a cheap filler to make this sweeter.

They also have the Samsung Galaxy S2 for VM for $299.99

I bought one of these direct from VM during Cyber Monday,
It is fine, my first smartphone.. I went with the $35 plan.

People are selling these on Amazon for $80 up,
so if you like the game,
it might be an easy moneymaker.

Edit:
Any cashback for radio shack anywhere?
The one I bought a few weeks ago came with a juicy cashback,
that should pay out soon.

I also would like to know when this is going live...
will check back after SNL !!

Re the $10 "coupon" - is that $10 cash back or $10 off a future purchase? The RS site is not really clear, just says you will get an email "coupon" in 7 days. So??

* Receive a $10 off coupon via email for every $50 in qualifying purchases per transaction (before tax/shipping) at participating stores and RadioShack.com through 1/5/13. Must provide valid email address to receive coupon(s), except in California. Email will be sent within 7 days of purchase. Multiple coupons can be earned per transaction, but only one coupon can be redeemed at a time. Some restrictions apply. No cash value. Void where prohibited. Process may differ in California. Merchandise returns which result in a non-qualifying purchase amount will change the number of coupons you receive. For online purchases, a maximum of 20 coupons can be earned per customer for the duration of the promotion.

Edit - well it says "$10 off coupon" so am I to assume it's not $10 back but $10 off a future purchase?

Picked this phone up last time for $35 after CB from a few sites. I've been using the Optimus V for a few years, and recently switched over to the Triumph on a grandfathered plan. Here's my thoughts on this phone (giving it to a family member to replace their Optimus V on a non-grandfathered plan).

Pro's:
Inky black, razor sharp screen. The screen's contrast, color, and sharpness puts my Triumph to shame.
Light weight. Feels nice in the hand. The brushed black metal is awesome.
Snappy. Fluid. Much more buttery operation similar to iOS than anything I've used via Android.
Cheap as all get out for the specs.
Outstanding device as a substitute for an iPod Touch. Put a huge mSD card in it and have at it.
It's skinny like the new iPhone 5, if that's what you like.

Con's:
The negative reviews on the VM site say the phone gets sluggish after some usage.
The battery life is poor per some reviews.
The wifi signal is poor per the negative reviews.
It's possible all these issues could be fixed with rooting the device at xda. YMMV.

The only thing I can think of is VM may know something we don't, and is unloading this phone cheap knowing there are issues with this device. If an Android update fixes any of these issues, if in fact they are issues, it's a steal. There are a few new in box selling right now on CL for $80 and $100 cash, so there may be a glut of them on the market for resale, but it's still a safe purchase if you need to unload it for any reason.

Yes download a custom ROM and/or overclock it to get better usage.

Battery life has actually been really good for me. Like I can not charge for 3 days and it'll still be good.

Wifi signal is good with, but I did root/have a custom ROM.

DO NOT ACCEPT VIRGIN OTA UPDATE. It screws up the bootloader some how and will have any custom ROM you use glitch out.

If you plan on keeping it stock, then fine, but otherwise don't do the OTA update.

Maybe it won't kick in until pacific time.

Nothing through Shop Discover, but 5% CB with online shopping with Discover (just remember you max that out after $1500 in purchases).

That's some positive news. How hard was it to add a custom ROM? Is this your primary phone, or just a wifi/iPod Touch alternate?

I will add, texting on this phone isn't great. Since it's a skinny phone, if you've got fat fingers, it's not going to improve anything. I did find the accuracy when pecking is pretty good though - better than my older Optimus V. But not as easy as the larger Triumph.

This was one of my best buys this season. Pondering picking up another one. Daughter has a Triumph, and loves it. Not sure if she'd appreciate this One V, but if her Triumph gets lost or stolen, or breaks, it's a cheap back up. At least much better than my Optimus V.
