Eagle Tech ET-AR302-BK Soundstage Speakers - FAR + Shipping @ TigerDirect.com

Can somebody help me, how are these any better than standard $10 computer speakers. I'm a complete noob in this area..

Haha, well for starters, I make back-up copies of all the documentation, and have them sorted into "Fulfilled" and "Unfulfilled" rebate folders.

When I receive a rebate I move it to the fulfilled folder.

As for keeping track of all the ones I haven't yet done, I have a notepad file where I make entries about what shipments I'm waiting on, when I receive items, when I mail out rebates, etc. I break it down by retailer (Fry's, TigerDirect, etc.).

As they come back to me, I remove them from the notepad file as well.

Here's what some sample notepad entries (for TigerDirect) look like:
Completed & Mailed:
$20 MIR Logitech Ultimate Ears 100 Earbuds (Jade Guitar) - Completed & Mailed on 12/06/12

Rebate Completed, But Not Mailed:
$25 MIR Bling 123 Copy DVD Platinum 2012 Software - Pending Mail on 12/22/12

Item Received, But Rebate Not Completed:
$5 MIR Masscool 80mm Sleeve Bearing Case Fan - Received - Rebate Pending

I like your system...I use a spreadsheet and an MS Access database to keep my stuff straight, also works pretty well.


I have a question for you. Is there a good way to turn these rebate prepaid cards into cash? I typically just buy Amazon GCs so that I don't have to worry about expiration, but I've already got a nice amount in my Amazon account and I don't know if I want to keep putting all of my eggs into that basket.

I can't speak for these tiny pc speakers, but I demo'd the first few larger speaker sets at MicroCenter this summer, and I have to be brutally honest - they are the worst pc speakers I've ever heard. The build quality is so bad, there is none. They weigh nothing. And the sound is up there with a clock radio. These also go by the name Eagle Arion. Seeing how the larger speakers sounded so bad, I can't imagine how these tiny pc speakers sound better. I have a TCL tv, and they by far have better sound than what I heard at MicroCenter. If there's any chance of not getting money back through MIR, I'd completely pass on this.
