Although the rebate requires software activation, subscription can be cancelled any time. But I would recommend waiting till 12 AM (EST) tonight if you wanna reach the free shipping limit rather than going through all this hassle.

Like GM I keep a copy of all rebate forms submitted. I just sent the wrong UPC for the $100 off the 48" TCL tv. The right UPC is on the way now. Anyway, once a rebate check arrives I match it to the copy of the form and then shred the papers (by hand, I'm not paranoid ) $650 in rebates out right now.

The biggest difference is knowing what I'm waiting for. As soon as I buy a product I complete the rebate form and print it. Then when the product arrives I have the form right there every time(I just keep these face down on the printer or right beside the printer since it is normally 2-5 days they will sit there). Tiger/NE/Buy/Amazon tell you the order number right when you complete the purchase so you don't have to wait for an email to fill out the form, you have all the info. The only time this is bad is if an order gets cancelled, I've only had 1 of those this year though(with a rebate involved)

PS. I bought these on the last FAR, they sounded fine. Nothing special, but no hum or cracks.

Thanks. That's post I was looking for. People say they're free but it's actually $4 and a lot of hoops to jump through for crap.

Save your money and time. You should be able to grab a 2.1 set somewhere for $15 on sale...you'll be much happier with a little bass.

Anybody have some insight on a decent set of speakers for a TV? I have a Dynex 46 inch LCD that I mainly use to watch movies and the sound is pretty awful.

I have these speakers and they're decent. Good enough for my kids computer anyways. I only got them though because they were free after MIR. I doubt I would've gotten them if it costed me $4.

Go these last time as well. They hum even when turned off.

You can actually request a check for the balance of the prepaid card when it arrives. That, or using the Amazon Payments dual-account trick, sending money for goods and services between 2 accounts using the prepaid card as the funding source.
