The clear coat helps very little. Once the oxidation starts they will never look like new again. I use paper tape and toothpaste every three months and that keeps my Scion looking like new.

I use Crest Prohealth toothpaste and a buffer attached to a cordless drill.
Good enough for me.

For those saying...oh...just get yourself some sand paper...etc...at this price...you'll be spending more on the sandpaper..

I used this on my wife's 7 year old headlights (and they look like when she was 18 years old! Just kidding) and they do work. I even posted pictures on FB and people were all about buying it.
the kit is worth it. 6 months later and they have a slight haze but I just go out there and put clearcoat wax on there and they look clear again. For those with the real real dark headlights...not sure if it would work but it is cheaper than the alternative of replacing the whole light kit.

not do they look better but the plastic isn't refracting the light the road is brighter ahead of you.
I'm in for one again because I know it works. I have tried other kits and for this price you can't buy all the components and be under. Well worth the 6 bucks.

Nice kit. Better make sure you use a sealer on them every few months though.

Just had the headlights done when my car was in the shop for other repairs (I'd tried a headlight cleaner myself to no avail, but this one looks better). Anyhow, they did a great job at the shop but mentioned nothing about sealer -- do I still need to apply some every few months, or do they put something on in an autoshop that takes care of it long-term? What kind should I get?

Toothpaste and elbo with paper towel does the job for me.

Just use any toothpaste and be happy.

Just an FYI to anyone considering this. The rebate form does not state you need the UPC from the package, so you can print your invoice from Amazon the day after it ships (or as soon as your card is charged). That will get you a few days extra to send in the rebate form (before 1/15/13). So you'll probably make it.

And in case it helps other people. Amazon changed their 'subscribe and save' method so your subscribe items always ship on the same day of the month (ie. 12th of the month). So if you try to order and it says it will arrive by the 15th of january (like a couple people said) then check if someone else in the house that has ordered subscribe and save before, then they may have an subscribe account set up already with an earlier day of month. As an example...I went to order this with my amazon account (I've never ordered anything subscribe and save under my account) and it said it would arrive by the 15th of january....so I canceled that and then ordered under my wife's account (who's subscribe date is already set at the 4th of every month) and it shows it will arrive by the 4th of the month.

In case someone selects Subscribe and Save, their first delivery won't be till Jan 15th or later. What this means is that Amazon won't charge the card till a few days before that date, hence putting the rebate form null and void since it states "Offer good 10/1/12 - 12/31/12"

In simple words unless you can show your purchase was made on or before 12/31/12 (meaning your card was charged), rebate will not be a coming

Thanks for the tip but both our accounts are 15th or 25th of each months...hence no go for the rebate form for us

Just change the monthly subscribe and save delivery day to the 1st of each month and you will be getting it by Jan 1st.
