If it is truly bothering you that much you could always call 3M and ask them to clarify.

I think it is a valid question, an original cash register receipt is not ths same as a printed e mail confirmation, they really should specify, especially since the deal is on Amazon.
Without the rebate it wouldn't be such a slick deal, would it?

I haven't used a special UV sealant, but TurtleWax Ice can be used as a protective coating on plastic lenses. It's about like the sealant that comes with the kit, though. If you don't let them get too bad, you can use PlastX and some elbow grease or a PowerBall to keep them clear for a longer period of time. Eventually the roadwear will catch up to you again and you'll want to sand again.

Maybe so, but I'm only doing so because I've never seen such terms in at least 100 rebates I've submitted, all of which I've successfully redeemed. The reason for this is largely because I scrutinize the fine print. I intend to get $8 + $10 (from a 2nd item) from 3M, and if you consider amounts like these to be trivial, I don't see why you go on slickdeals. I'd do the same thing for a $2.00 rebate. To me, getting a great deal is significant and worth my time and effort. Do I have no life? Maybe to you. But many other folks on here must agree with me to some extent. If you haven't noticed, a few dollars often changes a mediocre deal into a slick one. I seriously wonder why you even browse these forums? Is there an ulterior motive for this place I'm not aware of? Or would you argue that there is a threshold that dictates what a reasonable amount of effort to get these deals should consist of? Either way, you're barking up the wrong tree in this place.

Thanks, now I can see I'm not invisible. That name came from an old high school buddy, who would quip, "Hey! Ronald dog!!..... nuts." Poor guy committed suicide, but I never forget his sarcastic sense of humor, so the name stuck. Especially because that name is never, ever unavailable. LOL! I'm happy to see that some people take notice!

Regarding the rebate, I think that I'm reading into it too far. It's almost certainly not enforced in the way it's written. I contacted amazon to ask their opinion, and they agreed to send me an "original" copy, which I'm sure will be exactly the same as a printed copy. So I'd say that everyone shaking their head at me are correct, that it's nothing to worry about.

I'll keep my promise and search for posts you make, so that I can give you "rep," even though I generally give little credit to it, in most cases. Exceptions are when people make helpful of witty posts, and of course, people like Selma (or, bots, rather) who post the deals that I like. But a pet peeve of mine will never cease to remain, and that is when people announce in their posts, "+rep!!" I almost want to throw a rock at them. -_-

Delivery date is irrelevant. Your invoice will show the purchase date, and since the rebate does not require a UPC, you should be good to go. You must mail it in before Jan 31, but I'd go ahead and send it in now.

Please don't take the suggestion literally. It's meant to be PURELY, an attempt to be a jerk, nothing more. I, among many others, give him the "evil eye" for treating our members as such. But I think that calling 3M would almost certainly be a waste of your time. Not that your steadfastness would go completely nowhere, because it could very well produce results that we'd love to hear about. I merely think that your time is better spent elsewhere, that's all. 4 years on slickdeals and almost no posts means a lot, to me at least. I, for one, can appreciate it, and I can only say, Bravo! for stepping out against the jerks on here!

Anyone else notice the regular kit w/o protectant actually has a little ad promoting the rebate for this product - but not that other product - and the ad isn't on this one's page. Weird - but I guess it confirms printouts are ok (think original form is standard wording, not a big deal.)
