my experience has been mixed with this mouse. i actually bought two of them, at two different times. The mouse does not work on all couch fabrics. I actually have to use the mouse on a pillow for decent tracking...
Amazon reviews also mention this issue. |

I bought this mouse last year to replace my Microsoft 3000 mouse and have been very happy with it. I use it at my desk and over on my bed/side table when watching videos. I think I got it for around $15-16 from Best Buy. Compared to the MS 3000 mouse, it was like night and day. My MS 3000 mouse always felt a little cheap, especially the forward/back buttons and the scroll wheel; and the range was pretty bad(it would cut out when I moved it 5-6 feet away from my desk). I actually like the scroll wheel on the 510 a lot. While it does "click" at preset intervals, it isn't a pronounced feeling and it's still easy to scroll quickly and precisely. The scroll wheel on my MS 3000 didn't click and it was hard to scroll precisely since it didn't have any resistance and would scroll too far. I also eventually replaced my MS 3000 keyboard(I started noticing occasional lag) with a Logitech K320 that also paired nicely with the Nano receiver from my mouse.

Bought this one for $5 from staples during August time frame. So $18 sounds like darn expensive to me. This was the first mouse for which I paid something out of my pocket (exlcuding tax). All my previous mouse were FAR.

All three actions can be mapped to other fictions using setpoint software. I like setting my thumb buttons for volume+/- and setting my left scroll and right scroll buttons as back/forward with application-specific settings for Firefox, Chrome, and IE. Lies, damned lies, and contrast ratios.

This is a good mouse. I'm using it right now. I have the pricey everywhere mouse as well, but I like this one better for prolong use. My hand fits comfortably over it. Not too small, not too big. From what I remember, I spent $35 at Walmart for this mouse over 10 months ago. I haven't had to change the batteries once, unlike my previous mouse. I use the smaller anywhere mouse at work.

The alternative, Nexus-branded "silent" mice, sound louder than the T400 and of course aren't as reliable. 2010: 42" 1080P Panasonic Plasma - $298 @ Buy.com
