We get little 2 second outages where I live which always knocks out my tv tuner on my htpc, so I plug my modem, router, and htpc into this exact UPS device. Since I have purchased it, I haven't needed it - so I guess it works great!!!

I've had one for years with mixed results (not sure if it's the same model, but it appears idenitical). As folks have mentioned above, you need to ensure that your battery backed side is low load items (so aovid the TV, AV receiver, etc.) if you want to get usable uptime from it during an outage (modem & router are great uses). For the person that mentioned they get a lot of short blackouts, this would also be a great use case.

Ahhh damn I just remembered that I *DO* have a desktop in another room I'd wanna use. Didn't think that all the way through. Oh well, still good for my router and NAS and TiVO that takes forever to boot back up after power interruption.

as others have said, this is PERFECT for a modem/router to keep the internet going. most of my power outages are localized. example - hurricane sandy...power was out yet apparently FiOS was still up and running (per my neighbor who had a generator). speaking of...i need to get a generator somewhere. any suggestions?

i bought that CyberPower UPS for my WHS to prevent hard shut downs.

if power is out beyond the run time of this APC UPS, i will just turn on the wifi tethering on my iPad

you get a cheap dollar tree 3 outlet splitter for the low draw 2 prong devices- modem, switch and/or router - thats what I use.
I dont really recommend for 3 prong
