nope. i called regional manager and he said their local store managers had the right to refuse selling any product to anyone with any reasons. done.

Stupid mofos at my two local RS stores demanded that I buy airtime or get a specific One V case. I asked if I could buy airtime for payLo plans, since that's what I use for cell service. Just want the One V to use as a 3.7" tablet.

Mofos refused to budge so I grabbed an ad, went to Meijer and had them price match the $100 off. The sales rep jaw hit the floor. Meanwhile RS will probably go out of business next year. They have no idea how to make a sale. It did not say anything on the flyer about buying accessories to get the sale, but these guys just make shiz up as they go along!

they wont be out of business anytime soon. they dont really pay much out of their pocket. just 1 guy in front, 1 manager in the back, from most of the stores.

this is a very clean and easy case. i just wonder why nobody stepped up to sue these mofos yet. this is cleary instructed from the corporate level because all of them (including store managers and regional managers) stood up very strongly that you had to activate the phone and/or buy the prepaid cards.

Man that sucks, even on the radio-shacks website you are not required to buy anything else.
next stop BBB ?
BBB is pretty toothless.

Whether or not they can refuse service is mostly immaterial. Don't let them move the goal posts. The issue is false advertisement. Most state attorney generals tend to frown upon that sort of thing...

Better off complaining to corporate about it, the manager is in on it. Yea its basically a form of bait and switch.
Contact corporate. If they don't resolve your issue, contact the state attorney general's office.

Because enough people haven't reported them to their state AG. Start here: http://www.naag.org/current-attor...eneral.php

this phone is no comparison with IPod touch. it's just a cheap way of looking at it. but it's no way compared with the Touch. the screen is small and its sexiness it far from any iTouch models. this is a very disappointed gift if you try to tell your children that this is the iTouch substitution.[/QUOTE]

Yes of course this is not the same as a $200 mp3 player with a fruit on it.
Closest direct compare is probably the 3.6 inch Galaxy player which goes for twice as much with a crummier screen. This is thinner all metal gorilla glass hi res screen a
nd a real phone which is what the kiddies want Do your research before you TC Mr Scrooge.

What does the touch do tht this does not?

There's a ton of stuff this does that a touch doesn't.
Expandable, speaker, iPod touch is unjailbreakable

Alright, so first of all MERRY CHRISTMAS. I have been following this thread since day ONE and THANK YOU RADIO SHACK+VIRGIN MOBILE!!!! Excellent Deal. Also, big shout out to XDA DEVELOPERS!!!! (love you guys)

So naturally, if you are reading this its because you probably missed out on the deal (as did I) and you are looking for a way to get the phone. So here's what I did on Christmas Eve. I went to radio shack where the phone was sold out.. Then I went to Wal-Mart and asked if they priced matched with radio shack (the sales rep said yes). So I directed my attention to the phone and said it is $49.99 at radio shack (the guy freaked out). I stood there for a minute as a older couple stood behind me listening, watching and waiting. I felt bad as I thought I was holding up the line, but apparently they heard my whole conversation with the rep and as soon as he approved the price match they said, "I'll take one too". The husband shook my hand smiling and the wife gave me hug (thanking me).. They said, " We were here the other day and our son wanted the same phone, but it was to expensive for us ($149.99) but thanks to you we can afford it, thank you so much and Merry Christmas!"

So here's my technical review. I purchased this phone and well of course I appropriately FLASHED IT to page plus. The collaboration of DIY instructions are excellent! huge Thanks to the combination of effort everyone put together. I was able to get 3G using page plus on the 29.95 plan following the instructions thoroughly.

Although let me warn you, if you already have page plus and are planing to switch devices. You will have to do one of the following;

1. IF YOU DIALED *228 OR *22890 AFTER FLASHING. You will have to flash the number again in CDMA workshop (EMPHASIS: You will only have to flash the PRL under the "other" tab and secondly, you will use the main tab to re-enter your MDN and MIN. Nothing in QST CONFIG, phone restarts)

Finally, I am working on port instructions. I know these instructions are vague, but if you read the very well explained WIKI you should not have any problems knowing what I am talking about. Please PM if you have any questions.

My son just activated street level maps for free on his evo 4G on wifi. I see topo maps are free to try or $10 download. These phones are amazing on wifi.

Yeah, this does more than an iPod Touch. My son just activated the GPS without cell service. Try that with an iPod Touch.

My son's $38 Evo 4G from Cowboom is 4.7 screen, isn't that bigger than an iPod Touch screen?

Galaxy player is only single core CPU and no GPS. No comparison with this phone. And this phone does more than iPod Touch.

May be in stock for same price at your Radio Shack B&M store.
Good luck getting it in-store. I checked inventory online, went to the store, asked for the phone. The guy went to look for the phone, was absent no less than 20 minutes, came back and said " We are sold out on those phones". Yeah, right.
