Credit limit increased without me requesting an increase
I have a student Discover card that I got this summer. Initially, it had a $1000 limit. I have under a 30% utilization every month and pay it off in full every month as well. I recently noticed that my credit limit has gone up to $1500. I never requested this increase, but I don't mind it. However, are there any negative implications to this (like me not being able to request one in the future because of this latest increase)?

Yar matey!

This happened to me not too long ago on a Chase Freedom card. Think banks will reward responsible users by increasing their limits. Kind of a win-win for the consumer and the bank.
