That Panny was a great deal. I wish I had bought it. Loved seeing the price on screen jump $250 when i blinked my eyes

4 different panels for this model. The A one and TH02 seem aceptable to most. The sharp and the other one get hated on. Get it from best buy so you can see the sticker on the TV before buying this.

How does this compare with the Panasonic here?

No offense dude, but Amazon doesn't deliver. They give contracts to FedEx and UPS and sometimes smaller companies in your area. They can't take responsibility for their failures at delivering. Also, the reason they had to wait til the 24th is because they had to give whatever company a chance to "trace" the package which takes five days. Then from there, nothing can be shipped until today, the 24th because of the holidays and weekends. I don't know what else they could have done for you other than explain the situation better.

I bought this TV over a month ago at $648 and I chatted with their CS and they gave me $50 in promo credits even though their price match is only 7 days.

How do you tell what model you have when you get it? And which models are the bad ones?

Look at the serial number label on the box the tv came in and you'll find "Version XXXX". I made the best buy guy go back twice before I got the tv with "Version TS02" on the side. So went home with a genuine Sammy panel not Chi Mei crap!

For the money these are good led lcds. If you don't mind extra heat, dimmer pic, and image retention risk, the Panasonic plasma is a better screen. Despite it being "thick and boxy" vs the higher end side lit ES series samsungs, I actually prefer the EH series as I prefer LED backlit vs side lit as the screen is much more uniform with less flash lighting.
