So the doggies now get home made stew for dinner and have improved a lot. I swear those things eat better than I did when I was a kid. |

The product description for the cat food doesn't compute:
"Includes 2-pound per box and comes 6 per pack" "Product Dimensions: 3.5 x 6.5 x 7.2 inches ; 2.2 pounds" 2 pounds x 6 per pack would weigh 12 pounds, not 2.2. $23.99 is the same price quoted for a 2 pound box on The Honest Kitchen website. http://www.thehonestkitchen.com/products/prowl/ So, this is either a price mistake or an incorrect description on Amazon. My bet is a bad description. We'll get a single 2 pound box. Another curious item is how much food it makes. If you mouse over the photo of the product on Amazon it's a 4 pound box and the text on the box says it make 16 pounds of fresh food. On the Honest Kitchen website link listed above it says: 4 lbs. Box. Makes 12 lbs of fresh food The Honest Kitchen website says a 2 pound box will make 6 pounds of fresh food. I think that's what you should use for comparing the price to other foods. 6 pounds for $24. |

Most likely it is going to be a production description typo based on the price and the weights being incorrect on the majority products listed. |

crockpot.. potato, carrot, green beans and some meat chicken or beef products- go to the butcher and get offcuts and tell them what it is for- you may not eat it, but the dogs will thank you for it)... throw it in the pot and a few hours later dinner is done .. divide it up into meals in freezer bags or containers for each meal.. and your done |

I ordered 3 of the trial size beef flavor for my puppy, Barkley. (Aussie)
It seems to have the highest protein and fat content which pretty closely matches his present premium dry food. I'm expecting 9#s of food that will make 36#s total prepared food. I'm thinking this should have a very long shelf life since it is dehydrated. If so, I'll prep it away for him. In a preparedness scenario it would be great to have! |

If you're feeding kibble, it is a really good idea to feed less and top with a moist food like the Honest Kitchen or a good canned food. Our pup gets one meal of raw frozen and one of kibble with HK Embark topping, one older dog gets kibble/Embark, and one does well on just the raw frozen. |
