I have owned every Call of Duty game since 3 -- except Black Ops (it was a rental after I was completely let down by my "World at War" purchase). Was also a Medal of Honor fan on the PS1/PS2. Also had various "Battlefield" series games, Tom Clancy games, etc.
As a whole, I've found the Treyarch series to fall short of IW in the following areas: 1) Graphics in World at War and Black Ops especially. The characters in multiplayer looked like they were a praying mantis. 2) Sound. A grenade going off next to you emits the smallest of dud "pssssssts". The guns don't sound like wicked means of destruction. In general, it doesn't sound like all hell is breaking loose on the battlefield. Also, I never got on the "Zombies" train. In many cases, it seemed, people were more interested in playing the mini game than the multiplayer game. I guess that doesn't say much about your core product. That being said, BO2 has a few improvements. I do feel they upped the ante a bit in both graphics and sound. Still not where they should be this far along into the "next gen console" life cycle. The presentation/usability is better, in some ways, than MW3. A quick and easy example -- being able to mute all members not in your party at once? Awesome. The 3D looks pretty good on a PS3 -- although I did get headaches after playing for about an hour to 90 minutes...and due to the darker screen, it's hard to find guys hiding in corners until it's too late. The soundtrack to the game while maps are loading, etc. is some of the best, if not the best, yet. I don't like how you're limited to one kill streak "setup" across all classes -- in MW3, you could assign one to each class. Sometimes, there's not enough time to change out between back-to-back matches, so you're kind stuck with what you got. I noticed, as was brought up in some reviews on Amazon, that the game occasionally hard freezes to the point where you have to hard reset your PS3...then have to sit through your PS3 rebooting/scanning the OS for errors, etc. I had that happen numerous times but don't have it happen with any other games that I own. Last but not least...the "full clip required to take anybody down" is ridiculous. It's not just me, either -- I've noticed it while spectating, I've come out on the "winning end" of it, and Sandy Ravage (for those who follow him on YouTube) has also mentioned it. It makes it REALLY hard to rack up gun multi-kills as you can rarely take two opponents down before you reload. So if you travel solo and run into a pair of enemies working in tandem, you're pretty much hosed. And although BO was just a rental for me, I found BO and BO2 to be more "camp friendly" than the MW series. Perhaps because I rented BO when it was new, and people find camping as a way to get used to the maps. There seems to be a lot of long alleyways followed by tight corners and/or windows to just sit in with a claymore or betty behind your back. Yes, there are ways to counter it, but no, that doesn't reduce the "campy" feel of the game at times. Not whining -- I win a lot more than a lose and I kill a lot more than I die ... and am typically amongst the top scorers in each and every game because I'm an ACTIVE member of the team. In many ways, BO2 is better than BO. Huge step forward overall. In some ways, it's even better than the MW series. I got to the final rank before prestige and was pretty bored with it already. Perhaps I'm just burned out on the CoD series. I do believe that if IW picks up certain user-friendly features from BO2 (i.e. "mute all at once") and GFX "enhancements" (3D capability) that BO2 will be long forgotten when the next IW offering hits the shelves. |

So, which is better, MW2 or MW3, and why!!?? "The national budget must be balanced. The public debt must be reduced; the arrogance of the authorities must be moderated and controlled. Payments to foreign governments must be reduced, if the nation doesn't want to go bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance."

If you meant BO2 vs. MW3...I'll say MW3. I think the graphics and sound are better, the customization, although not as extensive/deep, is still more user friendly on MW3 (i.e. specific kill streak packages for each individual class). Sometimes more isn't better. I haven't played the campaign on BO2, so I can't honestly critique that, but... The 3D is a nice "immersive" feature, but since I had more success in 2D, I opted to play that more (it's MUCH easier to see). As such, 3D isn't as big of a plus for me as it could have been. The graphics engine just feels slightly faster in MW3 and the massive amount of bullets required to kill in BO2 is a letdown. I love being able to come up on a pack of baddies and know that if my reflexes are fast enough, I stand a chance of surviving. The freezing issue on BO2 is also a massive pain in the ass. In a nutshell: MW3 still trumps BO2 in my mind. But BO2 is a huge improvement over the original BO. |

Personally this is my preference Mw1>WaW>Mw2>Bo1>Bo2>Mw3 Anyone who likes Mw3 is delusional or did not play the series at least since Mw1 (cod4). This is because Mw3 was the first game not made by the same developer and took a giant dump in quality. |
