Guild Wars 2 $30 12/25 Amazon PC Download

The wife may not like it, but for a free to play game that doesn't require in game purchases. Plus it gets good reviews and sounds fun! $30 isn't too bad.

You can get a rough idea of how things look by full-screening some gameplay screenshots at about the same resolution as your desktop. Here's a google search already filtered by 768p vertical and up. Your 17" is probably around 900p-1080p. The level of detail in the photos will probably be lower than actual, but you can at least get a feel for how big UI elements are.

Also, check this [systemrequirementslab.com] and this [game-debate.com].

Most people will play around 720p-1080p regardless of screen size, so you can roughly expect designers to target those resolutions when setting requirements and designing for viewing comfort.

The "graphics card" you have is your CPU chip/integrated. That won't run the game. You need a dedicated video card to play this game.

Lol, ya. It is the time sink she is more worrisome about. She bought WoW for me when it first came out, and she said it was the worst present she ever gave me!!

I felt obligated to play it though since it was costing me a monthly fee. With Guildwars 2 I can play when I feel like it or not if I don't feel like it.

Great game, though the PvP is still lacking and needs some attention. World vs World is getting a big update in February I heard.

The deluxe upgrade is NOT worth it. Just some one time consumables that help a little, a special mini pet and a special skill that you will never use tbh.

No its not playable unfortunately; youll be at borderline 30fps. You would also have to drop the resolution to 1366x768 im guessing yours is 1600x900.

was there another display listed besides the 3000?

It will actually be playable as long as you drop the resolution and put everything at lowest settings. I dont think it would be enjoyable though. You will have lag spikes when theres a lot of stuff going on screen.
